Atlanta Middle School and Queen City Middle School (M.U.M.S.) track and field athletes competed in the district track meet on Apr. 4.

The girls competed at DeKalb and the boys competed at Paul Pewitt.

Seventh Grade Boys

Atlanta’s seventh grade boys won a district title with 170.5 points, QC was second with 143, Redwater had 109, Hooks 59, DeKalb 56, Pewitt 32, Redlick 30 and New Boston 17.5.

Atlanta

In the 100m dash Jacolby Wells placed third at 13.00, in the 200m dash Jaden Smith placed first at 26.85, in the 400m dash Liam McKinney placed first at 1:02.43 and Kaigen Loyd placed fifth at 1:06.78, in the 110m hurdles Aiden Eason placed fourth at 20.56 and in the 300m hurdles Eason placed first at 52.91 and Easton Patterson placed third at 54.26.

In the 800m run McKinney placed first at 2:27.65, in the 1600m run Andres Campos paced fourth at 6:11.40 and in the 2400m run Wade Bergt placed fifth at 10:19.08.

Atlanta swept the relays as the 4x100m relay team of Wells, Landon Thomas, T.J. Hamilton and Smith placed first at 50.09, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed first at 1:48.15 and the 4x400m relay of Thomas, Hamilton, McKinney and Aaron Slaten placed first at 1:16.50.

In the long jump Thomas placed sixth with a mark of 15 feet, 1 inch, in triple jump Thomas placed second at 32 feet, 8 1/2 inches and Smith placed sixth at 30 feet, 10 1/2 inches, in high jump McKinney placed fifth at 4 feet, 6 inches, in discus Jaylen Finley placed first with a toss of 98 feet, 11 inches, Kam Williams placed third at 89 feet, 6 inches and Wells placed sixth at 80 feet, 4 inches and in shot Williams, Finley and Wells finished 2-3-4 with heaves of 37 feet, 5 inches, 34 feet, 8 inches and 29 feet, 9 1/2 inches respectively.

Queen City

In the 200m dash Kendrick Young placed third at 27.21 and Martrevious Banks placed sixth at 27.75, in the 300m hurdles Trent Treadway placed fifth at 56.03 and Evan Benson placed sixth at 56.25, in the 800m run Payden Glass placed second at 2:35.66 and Kenzie Wiggans placed sixth at 2:43.94, in the 1600m run Glass placed second at 6:00.79 and Dion Metzger placed fifth at 6:18.60 and in the 2400m run Metzger placed second at 9:57.77 and James Gladden placed fourth at 9:59.85.

The 4x100m relay team of Young, Banks, Gavyn Donaldson and Derell Sewell placed third at 51.97, the 4x200m relay team of Banks, Donaldson, Sewell and Jacob Webster placed third at 1:50.53 and the 4x400m relay team of Donaldson, Sewell, Trenton Belk and Webster placed third at 4:28.59.

In long jump Young placed second at 16 feet, 8 3/4 inches, Donaldson placed fourth at 15 feet, 10 inches and Sewell placed fifth at 15 feet, 10 inches, in triple jump Sewell and Banks placed 3-4 with jumps of 32 feet, 3 inches and 32 feet, 2 inches respectively, in high jump Young placed first at 5 inches even, in pole vault Belk placed second at seven feet even and Gunner Loftin placed third at 6 feet, 6 inches, in discus David Jackson placed second at 98 feet, 4 inches and in shot Jackson placed first at 39 feet, 1 inch.

Eighth Grade Boys

Queen City’s seventh grade boys won a district championship with 168.5 points, Atlanta was second with 140, Pewitt had 78, New Boston 64, DeKalb 62.5, Hooks 50, Redlick 31 and Redwater 26.

Queen City

Derrick Henson placed first at 11.94 in the 100m dash and first at 24.75 in the 200m dash, in the 400m dash Daketrick Smith placed first at 57.34 and T.J. Guest placed sixth at 1:02.72, in the 110m hurdles Tyson Blaylock placed fifth at 19.68 and in the 300m hurdles Blaylock placed third at 47.81.

In the 800m run Smith placed first at 2:21.34, Montana Aleman placed third at 2:25.69 and Guest placed fifth at 2:32.00, in the 1600m run Aleman placed first at 5:40.33, Caleb Kimble placed fourth at 5:47.61 and Guest placed fifth at 5:54.03, and in the 2400m run Kimble placed second at 9:26.52 and Wyatt Peacock placed sixth at 10:19.63.

The 4x100m relay team of Jason Joffary, Malaki Richardson, Keegan Salers and Leevi Byrum placed fourth at 51.18, the 4x200m relay team of Joffary, Richardson, Salers and Henson placed second at 1:46.03 and the 4x400m relay team of Kimble, Joffary, Byrum and Aleman placed second at 4:12.00.

In long jump Henson placed second at 19 feet, 3/4 inches and Smith placed third at 18 feet, 8 1/4 inches, in triple jump Henson placed first at 41 feet, 1/2 inches, Smith placed second at 38 feet, 5 1/2 inches and Tavon Andrews placed sixth at 33 feet, 8 inches, in discus Byrum placed second with a heave of 112 feet, 6 inches and in shot Byrum placed third at 37 feet, 11 inches.

Atlanta

In the 200m dash Omeria Kinney placed fourth at 25.53, in the 400m dash Brennon Allen, Kayden Linwood and Aden Bolt placed 4-5-6 with times of 1:01.87, 1:02.21 and 1:02.72 respectively and in the 300m hurdles Kayden Price placed fourth at 50.39 and Rem Clayton sixth at 50.69.

In the 800m run Allen placed second at 2:22.28 and Kason Byrd placed sixth at 2:33.57, in the 1600m run Braylen Bush placed third at 5:45.92 and Campbell Autrey placed sixth at 5:54.16 and in the 2400m run Autrey placed first at 9:17.58 and Bush placed fifth at 10:10.83.

Atlanta swept the relays as the 4x100m relay team of Kinney, Jayden Riley, Toddy Webster and Eli Mitchell placed first at 48.12, the 4x200m relay team of Kinney, Riley, Mitchell and Linwood placed first at 1:42.68 and the 4x400m relay team of Riley, Christian Warren, Keegan Surratt and Aden Bolt placed first at 3:58.06.

In the long jump event Riley placed first with a leap of 20 feet, 9 1/4 inches, in high jump Price placed fifth with a mark of 4 feet, 10 inches, in pole vault Clayton placed sixth at 7 feet even, in discus Nate Hernandez placed third with a heave of 96 feet, 3 inches and Tevin Thursby placed fourth at 91 feet, 11 inches and in shot Riley placed first at 42 feet, 9 1/2 inches and Javoni Briggs placed fourth at 37 feet, 2 inches.

Seventh Grade Girls

Atlanta’s seventh grade girls won a district title with 156 points, Redwater was second with 99, Hooks had 74, Redlick 73, DeKalb 56, Queen City 55, Pewitt 48 and New Boston 21.

Atlanta

In the 100m dash Alanah Bishop placed sixth at 14.27, in the 200m dash Kee Kee Johnson placed first at 28.65 and Zatavia Nash placed fourth at 30.26, in the 400m dash Gracie McWilliams placed second at 1:11.18, in the 300m hurdles Chloe Puckett placed third at 1:00.50 and in the 800m run Sophia Price placed first at 2:43.51 and Gracie Jeffers placed fifth at 3:00.62.

Atlanta swept the relays as the 4x100m relay team of Serenity Webster, Johnson, Jaliyah Gordon and Skylar Spencer placed first at 55.86, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed first at 1:59.35 and the 4x400m relay team of Price, Gordon, McWilliams and Spencer placed first at 4:49.76.

In the long jump McWilliams placed first at 14 feet even, Gordon placed third at 13 feet, 5 1/2 inches and Bishop placed fourth at 13 feet, 4 3/4 inches, in triple jump McWilliams and Webster placed 1-2 with leaps of 27 feet, 8 inches and 27 feet, 7 inches respectively, in discus Rhianna Sheffield placed third at 61 feet, 4 inches and Addison Sloan placed fifth at 58 feet, 1 inch and in shot Gabby Arredondo placed second at 29 feet, 3 1/2 inches and Hannah McClenehan placed sixth at 27 feet, 4 1/4 inches.

Queen City

In the 100m dash Makala Jackson placed fifth at 14.09, in the 400m dash Teagan Droddy placed fourth at 1:11.98, in the 300m hurdles Bailee Black placed fifth at 1:00.83, in the 800m run Kaylin Griffin placed third at 2:54.93 and Black placed fourth at 2:59.46 and in the 1600m run Tasia Andrews placed fifth at 7:15.11.

The 4x100m relay team of Jackson, Lucy Kelton, Breanna McConnell and Ava Norton placed fourth at 58.72, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed sixth at 2:11.52 and the 4x400m relay team of Black, Droddy, Griffin and Norton placed third at 5:01.88.

In the long jump Jackson placed sixth at 13 feet even and in triple jump Jackson, Ava Shelton and Black placed 3-4-5 with leaps of 27 feet, 3 inches, 27 feet, 2 inches and 26 feet, 9 inches respectively.

Eighth Grade Girls

New Boston’s eighth grade girls won a district championship with 135.5 points, DeKalb had 105, Atlanta 94.5, Queen City 87, Redwater 58.5, Redlick 42, Pewitt 35 and Hooks 29.5.

In the 200m dash Samia Muldrow placed sixth at 30.72, in the 400m dash Allie Kindred placed fourth at 1:14.93, in the 100m hurdles Riley Thompson placed third at 18.90 and Brooklyn Thompson placed fourth at 20.30, in the 300m hurdles Riley placed third at 58.97 and Brooklyn placed fifth at 59.86, in the 1600m run Lucy Ransom placed third at 6:37.84 and in the 2400m run Ransom placed second at 10:28.03, Emma McCall placed fifth at 11:17.08 and Ela Stewart placed sixth at 11:17.09.

The 4x100m relay team of Shamijalah Gilliam, Markavia Garner, Kay Kay Wells and Kayden Allen placed first at 54.30, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed second at 1:58.81 and the 4x400m relay team of Gilliam, Garner, Gabby Petrofsky and Kindred placed third at 4:47.03.

In the long jump event Petrofsky placed sixth at 12 feet, 8 1/2 inches and in triple jump Muldrow placed fourth at 27 feet, 4 1/2 inches and Petrofsky placed fifth at 27 feet, 4 inches.

Queen City

In the 100m dash Amyia Young placed third at 13.79, in the 800m run Adalyn Tyson placed sixth at 2:58.81, the 4x100m relay team of Dazya Jackson, Dori Sasser, Kerian Thomas and Young placed third at 55.86, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed third at 2:00.57 and the 4x400m relay team of Jackson, Sasser, Thomas and Tyson placed fourth at 4:57.26.

In the long jump event Thomas placed second at 13 feet, 9 inches and Sasser placed third at 13 feet, 8 1/2 inches, in triple jump Sasser placed first at 30 feet, 2 inches and Thomas placed third at 28 feet, 3 1/2 inches and in discus Grace Alexander placed first at 77 feet, 5 inches and Makenna Hamilton placed second at 72 feet, 7 inches.
