Queen City track teams place second overall at Sabine
Queen City’s track program competed in the Cardinal Relays at Sabine High School Mar. 10, and each came home with second place finishes overall.
Varsity Boys
In the 100m dash Jeremiah Drayton placed second at 11.55 and Nicolas Herring placed fifth at 11.90, in the 200m dash Manasseh Drayton placed sixth at 24.49, in the 400m dash Herring placed third at 58.66, in the 110m hurdles Quiyon Ellison placed third at 17.53 and Clint Wooding placed sixth at 20.32 and in the 300m hurdles Ellison placed second at 46.65 and Wooding placed sixth at 52.99.
The 4x100m relay team of Drayton, Drayton, Herring and Trent Granberry placed second at 45.11, the 4x200m relay team of Drayton, Drayton, Granberry and Fincher placed first at 1:35.48 and the 4x400m relay team of Herring, Fincher, Granberry and Delvon Federick placed third at 3:52.15.
In the long jump Federick placed fifth with a leap of 18 feet, 5 inches, in the high jump Manasseh Drayton placed third at 5 feet, 10 inches and Wooding placed sixth at 5 feet, 4 inches, in the triple jump Ellison placed third at 40 feet, 1/2 inch and Federick placed fourth at 39 feet, 6 inches and in shot Cedric Davis placed first with a toss of 39 feet, 3 1/2 inches.
Varsity Girls
In the 100m dash Nyla Harrison placed second at 13.50, in the 400m dash Serenity Oden placed third at 1:08.77, in the 3200m run Keri Fomby placed fifth at 14.23.17 and in the 300m hurdles Toni McCellon placed first at 50.97.
The Lady Bulldogs swept the relays in fine fashion. The 4x100m relay team of Oden, McCellon, Harrison and Cassidy Johnson placed first at 52.66, the 4x200m relay team of Brooklynn Garner, Jamecia Cook, Johnson and Harrison placed first at 1:53.92 and the 4x400m relay team of Garner, Cook, Oden and McCellon placed first at 4:29.24.
In the long jump McCellon placed third at 14 feet, 4 inches and Garner placed sixth at 13 feet, 2 inches, in the high jump McCellon placed second at 4 feet, 10 inches and Oden placed sixth at 4 feet, 6 inches, in the triple jump Johnson placed first at 33 feet, 3 1 1/2 inches and Harrison placed second at 32 feet, 7 1/2 inches, in shot Chyna Stiger placed first at 37 feet, 2 inches and in discus Stiger placed second with a toss of 90 feet, 5 inches.
JV Boys
In the 100m dash Hunter Parker placed first at 12.23 and Christian Nard third at 12.43, in the 400m dash Isaac Thomas placed second at 1:02.11 and Bryce Belk fifth at 1:05.66, in the 800m run Thomas placed fourth at 2:35.85, in the 1600m run Timothy Brady placed third at 6:05.69, in the 3200m run Brady placed first at 12:36.14, in the 110m hurdles Sebastian Aleman placed second at 20.45 and Trevonne Horsley fifth at 21.12 and in the 300m hurdles Aleman placed fourth at 49.56.
The 4x100m relay team of Brandon Harwell, Sheldon Harris, Nard and Gatlin Surratt placed second at 48.95, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed third at 1:44.24 and the 4x400m relay team of Aleman, Harwell, Hunter Parker and Thomas placed second at 4:01.90.
In long jump Surratt placed fourth at 16 feet, 5 1/2 inches, in triple jump Surratt placed second at 32 feet, 7 inches, in high jump Belk placed fifth at 5 feet even, in shot Tyson Bell placed sixth at 33 feet, 5 inches and in pole vault Thomas placed first at 9 feet and Parker placed third at 8 feet, 6 inches.
Queen City hosts the J.K. Hileman Relays on Thursday, Mar. 17.
