BROOKS JR. CAPTURED
Charles Brooks, Jr., originally of Atlanta, TX, and was currently residing in Dallas, TX, was on the run from authorities after cutting his ankle monitor. Brooks was arrested on April 22, 2021, for beating two-year-old Blake Sampson “within inches of his life and left unresponsive” while alone with Brooks in his Dallas home. Brooks has since been captured and sent back to jail on March 12, 2022, according to jail records. A relative of the child, Gary Sampson, reported on social media that “Brooks was picked up in a bar in Sherman.”
It was reported that District Attorney Kathryn Suggs planned to revoke his bail before Brooks skipped, according to Tony
Buzbee, the attorney representing the family in the civil case. Brooks also did not show up to his court appearance.
He is now facing three felony charges for intent to cause bodily harm to a minor; aggravated robbery; and now tampering with an electronic monitoring device.
Brooks, in his defense, allegedly told the child’s mother. Madison Ball of Texarkana, that Blake had fallen down the stairs. However, Blake was found to have a severe brain bleed with swelling and adult bite marks on both of his legs.
The family for Blake is seeking justice and has set up a Facebook page called “Justice for Blake”.
They are seeking to get attention for his cause. They are asking for people to call the DA’s office.
