Atlanta, Queen City lifters compete at Redwater meet

Atlanta and Queen City powerlifters competed in the Redwater Quad Meet on Feb. 17.

Atlanta

Avery Whitlow placed first in the 123-pound weight class with a total lift of 910 pounds, Kyle Gross placed first overall in the 181-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,195 pounds, Jaden Wells placed first in the 242’s with a total lift of 1,430 pounds and Carlos Cortes placed second in the 308’s with a total lift of 1,215 pounds.

Whitlow is fourth in the region in his class and Wells is fifth in the region in his class.

For the ladies, Derronica Talton placed second in her weight class with a total lift of 475 pounds, Anna Daniels placed first in her weight class with a total lift of 615 pounds, A’nessa Smith placed second in her weight class with a total lift of 605 pounds, Reaganne Molina placed third second in her weight class with a total lift of 590 pounds and Rylie Wilson placed first in her weight class with a total lift of 475 pounds.

Queen City

Delvon Federick and Christian Nard placed 1-2 in the 165-pound weight class with lifts of 1,105 and 1,040 pounds respectively, Clint Wooding placed third in the 181’s with a total lift of 765 pounds, Daniel Jones placed first in the 275’s with a total lift of 1,135 pounds, Rhyen Pope placed first in the 308’s with a total lift of 1,345 pounds and Cedric Davis placed first overall in the Super Heavy Weights division with a total lift of 1,600 pounds. Davis is first in the region in his class and Pope is seventh in the region in his class. For the ladies, Courtney Price placed first overall in her weight class with a total lift of 530 pounds and Ruby McCasland and Halle Worthington placed 5-6 in their weight class with total lifts of 505 and 490 pounds respectively.
