Bloomburg

The Lady Wildcats topped county foe Avinger, 51-14, on Feb. 1. With the win the Lady Wildcats were one step closer to wrapping up a district title.

The game was never close, aside from, 0-0, at tipoff. The Lady ’Cats cruised to a, 32-5, at the break and went on a 19-9 run in the second half to put the Lady Indians away.

Cassie Glasgow put up 20 points, Haylee Breedlove added nine, Jacee Glasgow had nine, Kaleigh Glasgow had six and Katie Mote had six.

McLeod

The Lady Longhorns battled Harts Bluff on Feb. 1, and sent the Lady Bulldogs home with a, 51-13, loss.

As close as the game got was, 0-0, as McLeod finished the first quarter up, 17-2, and had a, 30-11, lead at the break. A 21-2 run in the second half completed the blowout.

Kenslee Cross put up 14 points, Ella Lambeth added 10, Rielyn Schubert scored seven, Chassie Gryder six, Stormy Johnson five, Sarah Ragland five and Jaci Armstrong four.

The Longhorns followed up the girls’ blowout with one of their own as McLeod sent Harts Bluff packing with a, 50-15, loss in tow. The ’Horns were up, 24-11, at halftime and enjoyed a 26-4 run in the second half.

Tyler Williams posted 13 points, Preston Bishop poured in 10 points, Kannon Dempsey added nine, Mason Teer eight, Braden Parker four, Brennan Penny two, Grayson Owens two, Jay Green one and Jaxon Smith one.

Queen City

The Lady Bulldogs competed against Paul Pewitt on Feb. 1, and lost 59-48. Jamecia Cook posted 14 points and Lauren Carrell added 10 points.

DeKalb got the better of the Lady Bulldogs on Feb. 4, as the Lady Bears won, 57-35. Both Jamecia Cook and Mallori Stringer each scored eight points for QC.
