Think on These Things
When God created this world, he created it in perfection. God saw everything that he had made and it very good. Before Adam was created, God had everything prepared for him and mankind. Everything that Adam would need to sustain him. Life in the garden was perfect, no pain, no sorrows, no death, no tribulation, no storms of life. But when the serpent was able to deceive, and man fell, the world was changed. What once was perfect, became imperfect, as the knowledge of evil entered this world.
Jesus said in John 16:33, In this world you will have tribulation, but in me you will have peace. Matthew 24 says, You will hear of wars, there will be famines, earthquakes, plagues, trouble. You will suffer persecution. Tears will fall, pain will come, sickness, diseases, sufferings, death, despair. But in Jesus, we have peace.
Paul said in Phil. 4:6-8, Don’t be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, Think on These Things.
Whatsoever things are true...John 3:33, He that has received his testimony, has set to his seal that God is true.
Whatsoever things are honest (honorable)...Psalm 66:2, Sing forth the honor of his name, make his praise glorious.
Whatsoever things are just (righteous)...Rev.16:7... And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgements.
Whatsoever things are pure...1John 3:3...And every man that has this hope in him, purifies himself, even as He is pure.
Whatsoever things are lovely...Song of Solomon 5:16...His mouth is most sweet, yea, he is altogether lovely, this is my beloved, and this my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
Whatsoever things are of good report...Isaiah 53:1...Who has believed our report? And to whom is the Arm of the Lord revealed?
Through virtue and praise, think on these things.
Think on The Lord Jesus Christ, set your affection on things above and not on things of the earth. And He will keep them in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on him.
God bless.
