Deception: Exposing the Wiles of the Devil

What are wiles?

The definition of wiles are trickery, deceit, being artful, and beguiling, charming behavior, craftiness and cunning. All these things describe the wiles or behavior patterns of the devil.

I am exposing some of these tactics that Satan uses to kill, steal and destroy. The enemy can use anything on this earth, and weaponize it—meaning he can use it as a weapon to further his evil agenda including people if one allows it.

There are many scriptures in the Bible that describe Satan’s nature. We see this happening when Jesus was addressing the religious leaders who were questioning his identity (St. John 8, KJV).

He told them that if they continue in his word, they would know the truth, and the truth would make them free. Their response was, “we are of Abrahams seed and have never been in bondage to any man, so why do you say, ye shall be made free?” Jesus lets them know, that whosoever commits sin, is the servant of sin, and the servant does not abide in the house forever, but the Son abides forever

(St. John 8:42-44, KJV).

Again, Jesus said unto them, “if God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded forth and came from God, neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do you not understand my speech? Even because you cannot hear my word?”

From this, Jesus begins to reveal their true intent and exclaimed, “You are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own. For he is a liar and the father of it.

Saints, that is the true nature of Satan, a bundle of lies, and the picture he paints in your life is always a lie. He can be charming, yet deceitful, and we cannot get caught up in his web of lies. Jesus teaches us that the devil was a murderer from the beginning and we see that in the story of Cain and Abel.

In addition, we see the plot of deception in Genesis 3:6 in the Garden which states, “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, (lust of the flesh), and that it was pleasant to the eye, (lust of the eyes), and a tree to be desired to make one wise, (the pride of life), she took the fruit thereof and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat. We know this act of disobedience opened a portal of entry for sin to enter the world.

In 1 John 2:15, we are warned, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away and the lust thereof. But he that does the will of God abides forever.

In the passages above, we can see how Satan has taken the emotions of people (religious leaders & Eve) in this world and weaponized them which he continues til this day.

As evidence, we see modern social movements have come forth from emotional heart issues of injustice but many are deceptive.

Prov. 4:23 states, Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it, are the issues of life.

Why should we guard our hearts?

1 Peter 5:8, has the answer, “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.”

Paul stated in 2 Cor. that we are not ignorant of Satan’s devices. So Saints, let us “be watchful” and
