QC volleyball programs battle

On Oct 19, all three of Queen City High School volleyball teams battled Redwater. The varsity squad lost in three sets. Chyna Stiger had six kills, two aces, five digs and five service points; Jamecia Cook added two kills and four blocks and Lauren Carrell had five kills.

The JV 1 team won set one but fell in the other two sets. Ruby McCasland had four kills, seven assists and six service points; Jacey Cauthorn posted two blocks and five service points and Keeli Mainer had three kills and one block.

The JV 2 team also won a set against Redwater but lost the other two.

Ruby McCasland recorded five aces, eight assists and 12 service points; Erica Lavoie had three kills and two aces and Macey Granderson had four kills.

On Oct. 22, QC celebrated Senior Night as they took on Hooks.

The contest was tight throughout but Hooks won in three sets by scores of, 25-21, 25-21, 25-19.

Senior Chyna Stiger had eight kills and four digs; senior Nyla Pearl added four kills, one block, four service points and six digs; Trinity Oden had four kills and 10 service points and Mallori Stringer had 23 assists, two aces and eight service points.

On Oct. 18, the Morris Upchurch Middle School volleyball program took on New Boston. The Lady Bulldogs’ seventh grade A team fought hard but came up short by scores of 25-21, 25-20. Abigail Bickham led with 10 points and Macy Snelgrove added six points of her own. The Lady Bulldogs’ B team dominated the Lady Lions. Lucy Kelton and Kaylin Griffen each earned seven points apiece.

The Lady Bulldogs’ eighth grade A team fell short by scores of 25-16, 25-15. Kerian Thomas led with eight points and Dori Sasser helped with four points.
