QCISD District Nurse, Kim Dickey, spent some time in the CNA - Health Science classes recently at QCHS. Nurse Dickey demonstrated for students the proper way to put on, take off and dispose of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) worn in the medical workplace. Students were also instructed on the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and the importance of maintaining the oxygen supply to the brain during a cardiac event. Each student then practiced giving chest compressions on the CPR manikin. Students completing this course are on track to graduate from QCHS with their CNA certification.
Atlanta Elementary Fire Prevention Poster Winners were treated to “Lunch with the Firemen” and a ride on the fire truck driven by Chief Robin Betts. Winners of the contest were Ealie Mebane, Jemma Sullivan, Avree Francis, and Ainsleigh Addington. Thank you, AFD and Chief Betts! We appreciate all you do for our community.
Atlanta High’s Aundre Haskins completed his chicken coop project for his livestock show broiler chickens with the help of other welding class students. You guys wish this funny and energetic young man good luck with his pen of chickens.
