Methodist Children’s Center Ribbon Cutting
For many parents, finding childcare can be a daunting task. A clean, healthy environment where young minds can safely learn about the world around them is absolutely what every parent looks for when searching for childcare.
That is why when the Methodist Children’s Center, located at 308 School Lane Road in Linden, Texas began taking applications, they knew they would be successful. As of today, Oct. 18, the center is at sixty percent capacity.
It was today that the Center celebrated their official grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Both Linden Mayor Lynn Reynolds and Atlanta Mayor Travis Ransom were in attendance with Mayor Reynolds remarking, “This marks a new era for Linden, Texas and the surrounding area.”
Also in attendance was Bishop Scott Jones, who serves as the resident bishop of the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
When asked about the importance of bringing the childcare center to Linden, Bishop Jones says, “I challenged our churches to be in ministry with the children in their communities. We then described that in three characteristics, discipleship, literacy, and health. It’s a holistic approach that has been working at so many of our churches.”
The Children’s Center is the only licensed facility in town, serves primarily single parents, and offers tuition subsidies for underserved children of preschool age.
