Lady Rabbs, Lady Bulldogs battle on the volleyball court

Nothing like a good rivalry game to get your blood pumping a little faster.

Atlanta made a short trip over to Queen City on Oct. 8, to take on the Lady Bulldogs in district action.

This was a good match from the first serve. Queen City battled the Lady Rabbits and won the first two sets by scores of 25-23 and 26-24.

With QC needing just one more set win to give Atlanta its first district loss, the Lady Rabbs came out firing on all cylinders and took the next two sets 25-16, 25-18.

The fifth and final set was a nail-biter throughout as it could have gone either way, but in the end Atlanta pulled out a hard-fought 15-13 win to move to 8-0 in district play.

For the Lady Rabbs, Destinee Wells posted 19 points, two aces, 25 digs, eight kills and one block; Kaylon Partain added seven points, 43 digs and one kill; Amaya Williams published two kills and eight blocks; Alley Jefferson had eight points and 22 digs; AnneMarie Hanner recorded six points, six digs and 13 assists; Rylie Pattillo had nine points, six digs, one ace and 20 assists; Cara Taylor added 11 points and one dig; Sabriiyah Young had three digs, two kills and one block; Kym Sheppard posted 16 kills and 12 blocks; Kinlee Hamilton put up two kills and two blocks; KeyMya Smith had two digs, four kills and four blocks and JaNeshia Fields had two kills.
