Atlanta volleyball tops Daingerfield

Atlanta’s volleyball program battled Daingerfield Aug. 31.

The varsity squad won in three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-8 and 25-19.

Destinee Wells had eight points four aces, two kills and three digs; Kaylon Partain added 11 points, four kills, two aces and four digs; Alley Jefferson posted 17 points and three digs; AnnMarie Hanner recorded eight assists; Riley Pattillo had seven points and 10 assists; Kym Sheppard posted four blocks and six kills and KeyMya Smith had three kills and two blocks.

Atlanta Head Coach Quen banks had this to say about the Lady Rabbs so far this season.

“The ladies are coming together as a great team and have improved on a lot of weak areas we had,” Coach Banks said. “We need to work on having the confidence that we are a good team.”

The JV team beat the Lady Tigers in two sets by scores of 25-8 and 25-13.

ChanToya Hurd had 13 points and three aces, Kalissa Reliford added 11 points, and Jaliyah Brown posted six points.
