Queen City Homecoming 2021
J.K. HILEMAN PRINCESS:
The fourth grade Princess for J.K. Hileman Elementary is Paisley Howard. She is the daughter of Seth and Kayla Howard. She is the granddaughter of Stephen and Susan Faucett and Keith and Twila Howard. Paisley is on the A honor roll, has earned the outstanding mathematics award and has been named the “Awesome Bulldog”. She is a member of the Queen City Little League Basketball Team and the Pride Softball Team. She attends Queen City First Baptist Church where she is a member of the Awanas Program. After high school, Paisley wants to become a hairdresser and own her own business. In her spare time, she loves to bake and makes yummy edible cookie dough. She loves Jesus and her family. She would like to thank her classmates that elected her to represent the 4th grade class. Go Bulldogs!
J.K. HILEMAN PRINCE:
The fourth grade Prince for J.K. Hileman Elementary is Preston Glass. He is the son of Roger and Katie Glass. He is the grandson of Frank and Philicia Gorka, Alma Glass and the late Smitty Glass. Preston is on the A honor roll, and he has been named the “Champion Bulldog” and the “Awesome Bulldog”. He loves all sports and plays for the Queen City junior football and basketball teams. He plays baseball for the Prospects in Texarkana. He attends Church on the Rock in Texarkana. When he finishes high school, he wants to attend the University of Texas to play football and become a chef. He loves Jesus, his parents and Fortnite. He is honored that his classmates elected him to represent J.K. Hileman Elementary. #Bulldogforlife
M.U.M.S. PRINCESS:
The eighth grade Princess for Morris Upchurch Middle School is Isabella Sullivan. She is the daughter of Greg and Sarah Sullivan. She is the granddaughter Manuel and Amelia Cardenas, Brenda Sullivan and the late Grant Sullivan. At the middle school, Isabella is a cheerleader, a band member and an athlete. She is on the A/B Honor roll and has competed in UIL Music Memory for two years. After high school, she plans to attend college and earn a degree in archeology so she can travel the world and explore the unknown. In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, studying about different cultures and people and cheering with her friends.
M.U.M.S. PRINCE:
The eighth grade Prince for Morris Upchurch Middle School is Daketrick Smith. He is the son of Carmen Dickerson and Anthony White. He is the grandson of Cynthia Smith and Charlie Richardson. At the middle school, Daketrick plays football, is on the basketball team and runs track. Last year, his was awarded the Outstanding Citizenship Award by his teachers. After high school, Daketrick plans to attend college, play basketball and one day own his own business. In his spare time, he loves playing sports, mowing yards, keeping good grades, listening to music, playing outside and hanging out with his friends.
FRESHMAN PRINCESS:
The ninth grade Princess for Queen City High School is Keeli Mainer. She is the daughter of Jennifer Temple and Kevin Mainer. She is the granddaughter of Linda and Rusty Hancock. Keeli is a varsity cheerleader and a varsity volleyball player. She also plays basketball, runs track, shoots archery and plays school and travel softball. Her future plans are to attend college and become either a psychiatrist or a child therapist. In her spare time, Keeli loves playing travel softball, hunting, fishing, and riding her side by side. She also loves to spend time with her family and God.
FRESHMAN PRINCE:
The ninth grade Prince for Queen City High School is Brayden Wiley. He is the son of Dusty and Tracey Wiley. His grandparents are Jeff and Kathleen Smith, Diane Wiley, Donnie Wiley, the late Robert Bruce and the late Bill Tyl. Brayden plays varsity football for QCHS and plans to play baseball and run track as well. After graduation, he plans to attend college to study sports science or sports medicine. In his spare time, Brayden enjoys hunting, fishing and playing Xbox with Logan, Lathan, Rylee and Jeremiah. He would like to say to his team #GetBetterNick.
SOPHOMORE PRINCESS:
The tenth grade Princess for Queen City High School is Laurel Moore. She is the daughter of Lance and Rene’ Moore. She is the granddaughter of Larry and Sandy Moore, the late Elaine Stratton and the late Robert Stratton. Laurel is a varsity mascot and is a two time UCA All-American Mascot. She also plays volleyball and softball. She is a member of the Band of Champions and has served as a representative on the QCHS Student Council for the past two years. She was named the Outstanding Biology student last year and has been recognized for making all A’s all year. In her spare time, Laurel enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, playing sports and jamming to music in the car with her friends.
SOPHOMORE PRINCE:
The tenth grade Prince for Queen City High School is Mason Stringer. He is the son of Kristi and Ryan Green and the late Rusty Stringer. His grandparents are Pam and Kenneth Eaves and Dixie and Larry Stringer. Mason plays varsity football, is a member of the varsity track and powerlifting teams and plays baseball for QCHS. He is also involved in the Ag program. After graduation, he plans to attend a trade school and become either a lineman or a welder. In his spare time, Mason enjoys hunting, fishing, watching film, spending time with his girlfriend, and having Coach Ramey ice and wrap his injuries after practices and games.
JUNIOR PRINCESS:
The eleventh grade Princess for Queen City High School is Ebie Dotson. She is the daughter of Jeff and Leslie Dotson and the granddaughter of Pam Shirley, and Bobby and Patsy Dotson. Ebie is the Queen City Band of Champions Drum Major and was a member of the band when they earned the bronze medal in the 2019 state marching contest. She has also earned All-Region and Area band honors. She is the QCHS Student Council Parliamentarian and is a member of the National Honor Society. After high school, Ebie plans to attend college to become a surgical nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends and going to church.
JUNIOR PRINCE:
The eleventh grade Prince for Queen City High School is Trent Granberry. He is the son of Jim and Gaye Granberry. He is the grandson of Sue Granberry and the late Bob Granberry and the late Pauline and Walter Magouyrk. Trent runs cross country and track for Queen City High School. He has qualified for Regionals in cross country for the past two years and for Area in the 3200 meter run in track last year. He was honored with the “Bulldog Pride” award for both track and cross country in 10th grade and the “Fighting Bulldog” award for both sports in 9th grade. Trent also plays football. After high school, Trent plans to attend Prairieview A&M University to run track and participate in the ROTC program to hopefully become an officer in the United States Marine Corp. In his spare time, Trent loves playing Warzone with his boys, Reggie and Guage, and spending time with his girlfriend, Erica.
SENIOR HOMECOMING QUEEN NOMINEES:
Camryn Allen is the daughter of Billy and Becky Allen, the sister of Macey and Tyler Rutledge and the aunt to Emma, Grayson and baby Rayleigh on the way. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Stewart and the late Billy Stewart and the late Harry and Emma Allen. Camryn is a member of the National Honor Society and is serving as the Historian this year. She is also a member of the Interact Club, Leadership class and Yearbook staff. Her future plans are to attend college and major in elementary education and eventually earn her master’s degree in Educational Administration. Camryn is a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church, and she loves teaching children about the Word of God. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Justin, and taking late night Taco Bell trips with Zoe. Her favorite Bible verse is 2 Peter 3:18, “And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment.” She would like to give a thank you to Justin for being her shoulder to cry on and someone to laugh with for the past three years. She also gives a huge thank you to her classmates for giving her the privilege of being on homecoming court. She says, “Although I have only been here for six years, I have grown to know and love all of you”. Her final thank you goes to her parents, sister and brother-in-law, friends and her role model, Nanny, for always believing in her.
Emma Baker is the daughter of Jim and Charity Baker and the granddaughter of Wendall and Glenda Morton, Tommy Draper, Linda Baker and the late Joe Baker. Emma has been a Varsity Cheerleader for all four years of high school, a class representative on the QCHS Student Council for three years, and is the student council reporter this year. She also runs Varsity track and has received the MVP award and the Bulldog Pride award for track. She has made All A’s All year award for the past three years and is in the top 10 percent of her class. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Queen City FFA, the Texarkana College Talent Search Program and has been a homecoming princess for two years. She is very honored to be nominated to the court this year. After high school, Emma plans to attend college to become a registered nurse anesthetist. In her spare time, she loves laughing and making memories with her friends, including a chicken prank or two with her girl Halle, camping with her family, spending Saturdays on the lake, and sharing quality time with her awesome little sister Ella. She would like to say a special thank you to everyone who voted for her.
Kylah Cordell is the daughter of Chuck and Barbara Cordell. She is the granddaughter of Craig and Kim Drum and Terry and Linda Parr. Kylah is a member of the National Honor Society and is serving as the Secretary this year. She has also been a representative on the Queen City High School Student Council for three years. After graduation, Kylah plans to attend the University of Texas to major in biology and then study to become a pharmacist. In her spare time, she enjoys working at Wal-Mart, shopping with her best friend Hannah, fishing with her dad and watching Harry Potter with her mom.
Journee McRae is the daughter of Natalie and Thomas Shotwell and Craig McRae. She is the granddaughter of Earl and Dawn Kubin, Ray McRae and Florence McRae. Journee has been a representative on the Queen City High School Student Council for the past three years and serves as the Historian this year. She competed in UIL Literary Criticism her freshman and sophomore years and in the One Act Play her junior and senior years. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has played tennis for the past two years. Her future plans are to attend the University of Texas at Austin to earn a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. She plans to pursue a career as either an engineer or a commercial airline pilot because she has a passion for flight. In her spare time she loves reading and playing with her baby sister, Jeorgia.
Keaton Simpson is the daughter of Lance and Lisa Simpson. She is the granddaughter of Clyde and Dixie Pennington and Pete and Charlett Simpson. Keaton has served on the Queen City High School Student Council for all four years of high school and is serving as the Student Body President this year. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and is currently serving as the Vice President of this organization. She has played tennis throughout high school, has been on the varsity team for three years, and placed third in district last year. Keaton has also been a varsity cheerleader for the past two years. After high school, she plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station to major in construction science. After college, she plans on owning her own business designing and building luxury homes with hopes to expand in vacation rental properties. In her spare time, Keaton loves playing tennis with her sister Carsen and friends Annika and Landri, driving around and getting Sonic with Gracie, going on lunch dates with her sister Kennedy, going to the lake and river with her family, going on sunset walks with her dog Tanner, and joking around with Kenayah.
SENIOR HOMECOMING KING NOMINEES:
Dylan Benson is the son of Michael and Susie Benson. He is the grandson of the late Shirley and Warner Finlayson, and the late Charles and Patricia Benson. Dylan is a member of the Queen City FFA, the QCHS Bass Fishing Team and the National Honor Society. He also plays football and is a member of the track and field team. Dylan has received the Outstanding Student Awards for English II and Ag Mechanics, and is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. After high school, Dylan plans to attend East Texas Baptist University and fish at the collegiate level. He plans to earn a degree in electrical engineering and pursue a career as a game warden. In his spare time, Dylan spends most of his time on the lake fishing, hanging out with his best friend Justin or hanging out with his girlfriend Aubree. He is a devout member of his church and very thankful for his family. He would like his family to know that he could not have become the person he is today without your love and support. Lastly, he would like to thank his classmates for nominating him for homecoming court, and he wishes them all good luck on their future endeavors.
Conner Brown is the son of Chad and Shelley Brown. He is the grandson of Mike Brimage and the late Judy Brimage and Pam Brown and the late John Brown. Conner has been a member of the Queen City High School Band of Champions for the past four years. He helped the band earn the bronze medal in the state marching contest his sophomore year. After graduation, Conner plans to attend Texarkana to earn his heating, ventilation and air conditioning certification. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, making money and eating at Cane’s.
Owen Dodd is the son of Gary and Amanda Dodd. He is the grandson of Pam Rhoden, Gary and Susan Dodd and Pam and Bobby Wilson. Owen has been a member of the Queen City High School Band of Champions and the percussion “Pit Daddy” for the past five years. He has also been involved in FFA and served as a Greenhand Officer his freshman year and historian his sophomore year. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Leadership class. Owen’s future plans are to attend college and pursue a degree in business. In his spare time, Owen enjoys playing piano, attending Gravity Student Ministries, playing in the band, reading, working on his steer project, sleeping and drinking coffee.
Quiyon Ellison is the son of Chauniquewuah Thompson and Gerald Horsley. He is the grandson of Cynthia Thompson, Claude Robertson, Verneda Clemons and Vernon Horsley. Quiyon is a member of the Queen City High School varsity football team. He also plays basketball and runs track. He is a member of the National Honor Society and competes with the Queen City FFA Land Judging Team. After high school, Quiyon plans to attend college to major in engineering so he can pursue a career that he enjoys and hopefully be successful. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing sports, exercising, and playing video games like Warzone with his friends.
Justin Hall is the son of Daniel and Kasie Hall. He is the grandson of Pat and Diana Kennedy, Melonie Johnston and Preston Hall. Justin is involved with the FFA and Ag program at Queen City High School and competes on the Land Judging Team. In the future, he plans to own his own business. He is a member of Tanglewood Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoys spending time with his family, his best friend Dylan and his talented and beautiful girlfriend Camryn. He also likes spending time outside, hunting, riding his four wheeler and working on cars.
SENIOR FOOTBALL SWEETHEART:
Halle Worthington is the daughter of Melissa and Tommy Kimble and Tyler Worthington. She is the granddaughter of Marshall and Debbie Loven and Gary and Juanita Worthington. Halle is a member of the Queen City High School Chapter of the National Honor Society and she is serving as the President this year. She has been on Student Council for the past four years as a representative and the historian. She is an active member of the Gifted and Talented program and the Interact Club. She has run varsity track and cross country for three years and played varsity golf for all four years of high school. She has qualified for the Regional golf tournament twice. She is also a varsity cheerleader. After graduation, Halle plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas to earn her PhD in physical therapy and pursue a career as an inpatient pediatric physical therapist. In her spare time, Halle enjoys travelling and hiking trips with her family, playing golf with Claire, and spontaneous shopping and coffee trips with Kylah and Emma. On Sundays and Wednesdays, she loves being an active member of the Queen City First Baptist Church Gravity Student Ministries.
