Plaque presentation

Ethan Stewart, a member of the Children of the Republic of Texas (CRT), James Bowie Chapter, Texarkana, was recently awarded the $1,000 CRT Leadership Scholarship and also the $500 CRT Texan Navy of the Republic of Texas Scholarship. To qualify for CRT Scholarships, one has to be a descendant of an ancestor that was a Veteran of the military during the Republic of Texas time period or a citizen who helped settle the Republic. Ethan’s ancestor is Warren Dalby who settled on land in Bowie County, Texas circa 1830, now known as Dalby Springs Community. The Atlanta ISD Board of Trustees presented to Connie Wall the school board plaque of her late husband, Joe Wall. School Board President, Charlotte Stanley and Superintendent, Sidney Harrist thanked Mrs. Wall and her family for his long lasting service to the Atlanta ISD.
