The celebration of another year lived, a year full of memories and experiences that tell the story of a life lived. There are a rare few though, that reach an extra special milestone. Less than one percent of the population can be called a centenarian, that is a person who has reached the amazing age of one hundred.
On July 28, Alleck Bohuslav achieved this landmark event and celebrated in the most spectacular way. Under the canopy of a family sized umbrella, Bohuslav and his wife gathered with their family in their driveway to watch a parade in celebration of this amazing centenarian put on by Atlanta police department and Atlanta fire department. Bohuslav, who is a WW2 veteran, greeted friends and neighbors who stopped by to wish him a happy birthday and waved to every passerby who honked their well wishes.
Bohuslav says he has certainly lived a life full of many memories that he still cherishes. When asked what his secret to such a long life is, he said it is his beautiful wife, Marian.
