Teamwork
There are many instances in the Bible where teamwork was needed to fulfill a task.
Although God orchestrated the events, He taught His people how to trust in Him and how obedience brings victory.
As team members (Children of God) we need to encourage one another, pray for one another and lift up one another when hard times come.
A group of believers need to work together as a team at times and follow the Father’s instructions which will ultimately glorify God.
God is first. He leads, we listen and obey. Nothing should get in the way of our devotion to Him.
Remember the walls of Jericho? God commanded His people to follow His designed plan and the walls came tumbling down. They worked as a team to fulfill God’s plan.
Remember when Jesus sent out his team of disciples to preach repentance, cast out evil spirits and heal. He gave them power to do so. They worked as teams to fulfill His plan.
One teamwork story from the Bible that came to my mind was when God put Nehemiah in charge of rebuilding the wall in Jerusalem.
Why did they build walls around cities back then? As was customary in the ancient world, Jerusalem’s wall was the chief means of defense against hostile armies. With this barrier the city was well-equipped to endure a siege by foreign invaders.
When Nehemiah was leading the rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem, enemies of the Israelites kept trying to attack them while they worked!
Nehemiah 4:7-8, But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, and conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.
It’s just like the devil to disrupt what God has planned! But God’s project would not be hampered by the enemy.
Nehemiah 4:15, And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.
Nehemiah had half of the people stand guard with their spears and swords and protect everyone. The other half would work. Then they would alternate their positions. He posted everyone by groups and families, so they could encourage and support one another.
Nehemiah 4:16, And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons (a sleeveless coat of scale armor); and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah.
If you ever feel alone know that God will not leave your side, and no matter what seems to be going on in our lives He alone can bring joy, peace and victory. He will never leave or forsake you.
The Bible says that one Child of God can put a thousand demons to flight and two Children of God could put ten thousand to flight.
Imagine how many all of us together can put to flight?
