Wilbanks to serve on advisory committee
Commissioner’s Court held an open session in Linden on June 22 at 8:30 a.m., overseen by County Judge Becky Wilbanks. Commissioners Brett Fitts, Danny Joe Shaddix, Paul Cothren and Darrell Godwin were present for the session, as well as Treasurer Melissa Shores and County Auditor Jim Loomis.
Wilbanks was appointed to serve on the Advisory Committee for the Riverbend Water Resources District. The motion to approve this appointment was made by Commissioner Fitts and seconded by Commissioner Cothren.
A presentation by Shores was given to approve the Texas Association of Counties Health and Employee Benefits Pool (TAC HEBP) for 2022. TAC HEBP is a self-funded pool that offers group health, prescription and dental benefits to active and retired county employees, officials and their dependents through BlueCross BlueShield of Texas (BCBSTX). A motion to approve was made by Commissioner Fitts and seconded by Commissioner Shaddix.
A donation of $400.00 was made to the Cass County Sheriff ’s Office for the K-9 unit and was approved by Commissioner Fitts and Commissioner Shaddix.
Assistant Auditor Peggy Danice Miller, Court Clerk Justice for the Peace Precinct 2 Wendy Vaughn, and Deputy County Clerk April Grigsby were approved for Continuation Certificate of Bond. The motion was made by Commissioner Cothren and seconded by Commissioner Godwin.
Commissioner Fitts made a motion to adjourn the session and was seconded by Commissioner Cothren. The session adjourned at 9:29 a.m.
