Tigers win bi-district title

Linden-Kildare’s baseball team battled Alba-Golden last weekend, May 7-8, in a 3-game series.

The Tigers lost game one by a close score of 1-0, but won the series and the bi-district crown after posting identical 7-4 wins in both games two and three.

Game one was a low score affair as Alba-Golden scored one run late in the contest to win 1-0.

Mason Johnson gave up only one hit in six innings pitched while striking out seven.

From the plate Hunter Crenshaw, Colt Neville and Clayton Mulkey hit singles.

L-K 7, Alba-Golden 4

Game two featured a little more scoring than game one.

L-K scored six runs in the top of the first frame and went on to win 7-4.

Trey Phillips scattered nine hits over seven innings and struck out seven.

Hunter Crenshaw was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, Jonathan Owen was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Kyler Fitts hit an RBI single, Cole Neville added a single, Clayton Mulkey had an RBI, Colton Anderson and Mason Johnson were both 2-for-4 and Jackson Lee added a couple of RBIs.

L-K 7, Alba-Golden 4

The Tigers wrapped a bi-district title with a 7-4 game three win over the Panthers.

L-K had a narrow5-4 lead going into the seventh but scored two insurance runs in the top of that frame.

Jonathan Owen scattered four hits and struck out four and Maysen Lemmon struck out one batter in relief.

Colt Neville was 2-for-4 from the plate with a triple, Mason Johnson and Colton Anderson were both 2-for-4, Kyler Fitts was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Carter Foreman hit an RBI single and Trey Phillips was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

The next opponent up for the Tigers is Hawkins.
