Lady Rabbs destroy Pewitt, 20-3

The second time around wasn’t any better for Paul Pewitt. The Lady Brahmas took a 16-0 thrashing from Atlanta back on Mar. 16.

Atlanta’s varsity softball team continued its path of success after the Lady Rabbs dismantled Paul Pewitt 20-3 on the diamond Apr. 9.

The Lady Rabbs (16-1-1, 9-0) scored early and often which forced officials to call the game after five innings.

Atlanta took a 3-1 lead into the second frame and held on to a 5-1 advantage going into the third inning.

The Lady Rabbits blew the gates wide open after torching the Lady Brahmas 15 runs to two in the third and fourth innings.

Jordan Hodge pitched five innings, scattering seven runs and notching seven strikeouts.

Atlanta was solid from the dish with both Victoria Clayton and Sabriiyah Young going yard.

Clayton, a freshman, doubled in the second, hit a grand slam in the third, singled in the third and singled in the fourth as part of her 4-for-4, eight RBI-day.

Young, a sophomore, was 2-for-4 with a homer, a double and four RBIs.

Cara Taylor accounted for four runs, Hodge had an RBI, Valerie Mason added a hit, Callie Dyer was 2-for-3 with a ribbie, Jade Albertson had an RBI and Madeline Clayton was 1-for-2 with an RBI in the contest.
