Atlanta junior high track sweeps Eagle Relays at Tatum
Atlanta’s junior high track program swept the Tatum Eagle JH Relays Mar. 23.
Each team scored more than 215 points en route to championship honors.
Seventh Grade Boys
The seventh grade boys’ team dominated the field as they racked up 230 points. Tatum was second at 124, West Rusk third at 107 and Beckville fourth at 103.
Great times were achieved at this meet for the young Rabbits but they really shines in sweeping the relays.
In the 100m dash Omeria Kinney placed second with a time of 13.34, Kayden Linwood was fourth at 13.68 and Christian Warren placed sixth at 13.88.
In the 200m dash Kinney placed second at 28.48 and Irieon Reynolds finished third at 28.57; in the 400m dash Aden Bolt crossed the finish line at 1:05.96 for a third place finish; in the 110m hurdles Evan Mitchell placed second at 22.15, Tyson Blaylock was third at 23.05 and Kayden Price was fourth at 27.41 and in the 300m hurdles Evan Mitchell placed third at 54.07, Tyson Blaylock fourth at 54.75 and Cullen Duhon placed fifth at 59.37.
Aden Bolt finished first in the 800m run at 2:34.45, teammate Kason Linwood placed fourth at 2:40.81 and Brennon Allen placed sixth at 2:42.05; in the 1600m run Braylen Bush placed third at 6:19.13, Campbell Autrey fifth at 6:20.53 and Rem Clayton sixth at 7:02.42 and in the 2400m run Allen, Autrey and Bush finished 4-5-6 with times of 10:01:33.00, 10:19:34.00 and 10:40:20.00 respectively.
Atlanta’s 4x100m relay team of Marshawn Woodberry, Kayden Linwood, Toddy Webster and Jayden Riley finished first with a time of 50.12; the 4x200m relay team of Omeria Kinney, Marshawn Woodberry, Kayden Linwood and Jayden Riley placed first at 1:46.50 and the 4x400m relay team of Marshawn Woodberry, Toddy Webster, Jayden Riley and Aden Bolt placed first at 4:13.34.
In the field events Riley placed first in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 8 1/4 inches, Webster placed second at 15 feet, 1/4 inch and Evan Mitchell placed sixth at 14 feet, 2 inches; in shot put Riley placed first with a heave of 39 feet, 4 inches and Nate Hernandez placed fifth at 29 feet, 4 inches; in discus Hernandez placed first at 89 feet, 5 inches, Luke Martin was fourth at 70 feet even and Tevin Thursby placed fifth at 69 feet even; in triple jump Toddy Webster placed third at 30 feet, 6 inches, Kayden Linwood placed fifth at 29 feet, 4 inches and Kayden Price placed sixth at 25 feet, 1 inch; in high jump Linwood and Woodberry placed 1-2 with marks of 4 feet, 2 inches and 4 feet even respectively and in pole vault Eddie Brewer placed fifth with a mark of 6 feet, 6 inches.
Seventh Grade Girls
The seventh grade girls finished first with 218 points, host Tatum was second with 203 points, West Rusk third with 101 and Beckville fourth with 77.
In the 100m dash Jakaelyn Wells placed first at 14.18; in the 200m dash Shamijalah Gilliam placed second at 30.26 and Kayden Allen placed fifth at 32.86; in the 400m dash Gabby Petrofsky placed first at 1:14.22, Ali Kindred third at 1:17.84 and Aleesha Parkman placed fifth at 1:19.50; in the 100m hurdles Ryleigh Thompson placed first with a time of 19.45 and in the 300m hurdles Thompson placed first at 1:00.36 and teammate Emma McCall placed third at 1:03.32.
In the 800m run Ella Stewart placed first at 2:57:39.00, Aleesha Parkman was third at 2:59:22.00 and Addie Giesler fifth at 3:04:36.00; in the Lucy Ransom finished first at 6:41.92 and McCall fourth at 7:10.14 and in the 2400m run Ransom placed first at 10:25:47.00 and Stewart second at 11:03:43.00.
As with the seventh grade boys’ team the ladies rocked the relays by sweeping the field.
The 4x100m relay team of Shamijalah Gilliam, Kayden Allen, Jakaelyn Wells and Markavia Garner placed first at 55.20; the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed first at 1:59.99 and the 4x400m relay team of Ella Stewart, Gabby Petrofsky, Aleesha Parkman and Markavia Garner placed first at 4:59.21.
In the long jump event Gabby Petrofsky placed fourth with a mark of 12 feet, 6 1/2 inches; in shot put Yrakia Nard placed first at 30 feet, 11 3/4 inches, Samiyah Wells, placed second at 28 feet, 2 inches and Aniyah Hamilton placed sixth at 23 feet, 1/2 inch; in discus Jada Blaylock placed fourth at 55 feet, 1 inch and Aniyah Hamilton placed sixth at 50 feet, 6 inches; in triple jump Gabby Petrofsky placed first at 25 feet, 5 1/2 inches and Hannah Sullivan placed third at 24 feet, 11 inches.
Eighth Grade Boys
The eighth grade boys dominated the meet with 244 points followed by Beckville with 135, Tatum with 117 and West Rusk with 77.
In the 100m dash Kam Williams placed first at 11.15, Peyton Harrison placed third at 12.57 and Kevion Sheppard was sixth at 13.41; in the 200m dash Eli Mitchell placed fifth at 27.00; in the 400m dash Sheppard placed sixth at 1:05.08; in the 110m hurdles Sye Stroman placed first at 19.42, Decarvea Range second at 19.50 and Easton Owens fifth at 20.33 and in the 300m hurdles Owens placed third at 49.27 and Stroman fifth at 50.24.
In the 800m run Will Davis finished first at 2:33.13, Juan Campos was second at 2:36.53 and Sye Stroman was fourth at 2:39.13; in the 1600m run Campos, Owen Flint and Ethan Scott finished 1-2-3 with times of 6:10.08, 6:13.55 and 6:20.38 respectively and in the 2400m run Davis placed first at 9:26:21.00, Flint second at 10:11:10.00 and Grant Allen sixth at 10:45:36.00.
The 4x100m relay team of Markeylin Batton, Asher Wells, Kam Williams and Jamarion Austin placed first at 45.17; the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed first at 1:38.64 and the 4x400m relay team of Batton, Owens, Wells and Austin placed second at 4:11.57.
In long jump Jamarion Austin placed third at 17 feet, 1 3/4 inches and Markeylin Batton placed sixth at 16 feet, 11 inches; in shot put Kheaton Kinney placed first with a heave of 45 feet, 11 1/2 inches and Kyle Gross placed third at 38 feet, 8 3/4 inches; in discus Gross and Kinney placed 1-2 with marks of 118 feet, 2 inches and 101 feet even respectively; in the triple jump Peyton Harrison placed third at 35 feet, 1 inch; in the high jump Braylen Rowe placed first at 5 feet, 4 inches and Jamarion Austin placed fourth at 5 feet even and in pole vault Sye Stroman placed second with a mark of 8 feet and Brady Partain placed third at 7 feet, 6 inches.

The eighth grade girls matched the total number of points the boys did by accumulating 244 points, Tatum was second with 152, Beckville had 107 and West Rusk had 98.
In the 100m dash Greenlee Henderson placed first at 13.44, Zariah Johnson third at 13.58 and Princess Peters fourth at 13.71; in the 200m dash Henderson placed first at 28.61 and Carlajah Adjer second at 28.68; in the 400m dash Aysia Heard placed second at 1:07.67, Peters fourth at 1:09.34 and Amelia Jones fifth at 1:10.30; in the 100m hurdles Kierra Young, placed first at 18.91 and teammate Elliana Edwards placed second at 19.05 and in the 300m hurdles Edwards placed first at 58.46 and Young placed third at 1:01.13.
In the 800m run Dekiya Dixon finished second at 3:02:05.00 and Anna Davis sixth at 3:08:04.00; in the 1600m run Emma Allen placed fourth at 6:59.39 and Davis sixth at 7:23.00 and in the 2400m run Allen placed second overall at 11:13.30.
The 4x100m relay team of Zariah Johnson, Chantoya Hurd, Serenity Duckett and Carlajah Adger placed first at 53.41; the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed first at 1:54.42 and the 4x400m relay team of Peters, Jones, Hurd and Heard placed second at 4:46.34.
In the long jump Adjer placed first with a leap of 14 feet, 6 3/4 inches, Hurd placed second at 14 feet, 6 1/4 inches and Henderson placed fifth at 13 feet, 6 3/4 inches; in shot put Jaliyah Brown placed first with a mark of 29 feet, 2 inches; in discus Isabella Campbell placed second at 64 feet, 3 inches and Brooklyn Sullivan placed fifth at 59 feet, 6 inches; in the triple jump Adjer placed first at 31 feet, 6 inches and Hurd placed third at 29 feet, 1 1/2 inches and in the high jump Heard, Jones and Edwards placed 1-2-3 with marks of 4 feet, 6 inches, 4, feet 4 inches and 4 feet, 4 inches respectively.
