Lady Tigers’ tennis wins district

Last week Linden-Kildare’s girls’ tennis team was crowned District 16-2A champions, and the boys’ squad claimed at least a share of the District 16-2A championship.

In the Varsity Division, Kendall Wells placed first and Leah Brown second in girls’ singles; Mason Johnson and Cambree Kerr placed first in mixed doubles; Chase Bynum and Chris Palmer placed first in boys’ doubles; Cade Bynum and Puff Peters placed third in boys’ doubles; Rylee Burns and Linzy Callaway placed third in girls’ doubles; Colby Gibson placed fourth in boys’ singles and Tashawn Patterson had a playback match to see if he finished in second or third place.

For the JV team Presley Turner and Nayeli Fuentes were undefeated in the JV girls’ doubles division.

All first and second place finishers in the varsity divisions advanced to the regional tournament which will be played at the Richland Tennis Center in Richland Hills, Texas Apr. 26-27.

The third place finishers are regional alternates.
