ANONYMOUS QUESTION from a AUTONOMOUS PERSON

Q: Are there any plans to reopen John’s Iron and Metal and if not where is the closest scrap metal yard to Cass County?

A: Currently there are no plans to reopen John’s Iron and Metal. Due to COVID and after suffering a devastating loss the owner closed the location indefinitely.

Those who wish to continue to scrap metal can still find yards in Texarkana. Tri-State Iron and Metal Company, which has a 4.3 star rating on Google, is located at 1725 East 9th St. in Texarkana, Arkansas. They buy aluminum, copper, brass, steel, stainless, and some lead.

The second location is Ray’s Recycle Inc., which has a 4.5 rating on Google. It is located at 107 1/2 W Rd. in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Inside of Texas, the closest location will be in Longview. Longview Scrap and Metal, which has a 4.5 rating on Google, is located at 5013 W Loop 281 in Longview. They do accept vehicles with a title.

Jennings Scrap and Salvage, which has a 4.6 rating, is located at 2600 E Marshall Ave in Longview. They buy copper, steel, brass, aluminum, and iron. They also accept vehicles with a title.

Finally, if only the best rated place will do, Recyclers Depot located at 7090 Lamar Rd in Reno, Texas. While it is about a two hour drive from Atlanta, they do have a 5.0 rating on Google. They also buy vehicles with title and parts; however they do not accept aluminum cans. Each of these locations, with the exception of Ray’s Recycle, does have a website that one can visit for more information.
