Be ready in the morning

God told Moses in Exodus 34:2 to be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present thyself before me in the top of the mount.

Ready means to be fully prepared for an activity or purpose, and is used for immediate action. Present means to make something (yourself) available to be used or considered.

Moses did what God commanded and God met Him on the mountain top and Moses worshiped. Moses was ready for what God wanted him to do and made himself available so that God could fulfill the purpose he had for Moses and the Israelites. He obeyed, and he had a willing heart.

Moses told the children of Israel to take up an offering from among them.

Exodus 35: 5 Take ye from among you an offering unto the Lord; whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the Lord; gold and silver and brass. Notice it said those with a willing heart. In Exodus 35:6-29 we see all of the offerings the Israelites brought. Every offering was welcomed and received as long as it came from a willing heart.

Some brought gold, which is refined by fire and not destroyed. It represents strength and is of a high value.

Gold shines and is malleable (to be hammered out of shape without breaking or cracking). How many of us have felt like we are breaking? The refining process isn’t easy, but it’s necessary. You are being refined, not destroyed. Silver represents truth. Bring the armor of God as a brass offering. Some brought goats hair, which represents humbleness. Be humble before God. Others brought Onyx, known for making signet signs.

In Haggai 2:20-23 we learn that Zerubbabel was given honor and authority. God told us he has given us the authority over the enemy, bring your authority. Other offerings included oil, which was needed for the lamps.

Matthew refers to the Holy Spirit as oil, and praise and worship when Mary anointed Jesus’ feet. The Bible refers to the prayers of the believers as incense. Bring your prayers as an offering: Psalm 141:2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Now that we have our offering, the workmen are ready.

In Exodus 35 God filled Bezaleel from the tribe of Judah with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge in all manner of workmanship.

And he put in his heart that he may teach. Even those that do any work, he gave them wisdom to do so. So bring your offering with a willing heart, and He will do the rest. Bring your: armor, prayers, faith, instruments, testimony, truth, authority, bring your voice, your humble spirit. We should be fully prepared for the purpose that God has for us.

We are to present ourselves to him, to make ourselves available to be used. We all have something to offer. But most importantly, have a willing heart, and your offering will be accepted.
