SNOVID ‘21
Editor’s note: We inadvertently left this article out during our brief (thankfully) snow storm in February. However, there are many who need to be thanked for their willingness to go above and beyond during this time.
Our SNOVID at Focused Care at Linden was remarkable to say the least. We were fortunate in that our food, power and water were untouched by this cold fiend that came our way reaping record-breaking temps.
In the last few months, we had taken in hurricane evacuees from a sister facility. Then in December we had the impact of COVID hit our building and as we survived all these heartbreaking events, we then get SNOVID21. We saw our healthcare heroes step up once again taking care of residents and staff alike.
Some men in our team Vincent Peter, Calvin Harden and DJ Willis shoveled snow and ice to make safe pathways for our staff. They worked tireless hours doing any task required to ensure quality of care for our residents.
Several team members also sheltered in place from housekeeping, nursing to dietary and maintenance.
Recognizing those who went the extra mile:
Jasmine Broughton, Calvin Harden. Teresa Corbett, Dayna McDermott, Olivia Woodruff, Nancy Wilkinson, Amber Booth, Amber Peacock, Wendy Cato, Misty Semple, Burgundy Mitchell, Tammie Linwood, Margaret Kelly, Montoya Davis, Sharhonda Kelly, Robbie Paulette, Tab Birmingham so many nursing, dietary, housekeeping and maintenance staff worked double shifts to ensure the quality care of our residents never waned.
One unsung hero with whom we would like to recognize is Troy Meece our Director of Clinical Operations husband. His four-wheel drive Jeep and trucking experience had him busy toting all of us to and from work. He drove from 4:30 am picking up dietary staff to well after 10 pm getting the overnight crew all week during this icy reign. His experienced driving got us all through this crazy week.
Being part of this amazing team has me feeling honored and humbled. Thank you team Linden.
