Woman charged with criminal mischief damages eleven cars

Carolyn Oliver was taken into custody on March 18 for 11 to 12 counts of criminal mischief, according to Sheriff Larry Rowe. Oliver was seen around 8;00 a.m. throwing a singular metal pipe at cars on Hwy. 59 between Queen City and Domino. Eleven cars were hit, but no one was hurt, said Sheriff Rowe.

According to several witnesses who commented on a Facebook video filming the incident, Oliver had been seen on Hwy. 59 yelling at traffic for several days prior.

Mandi Hancock, whose car sustained minor damages in the incident, said she slowed down to pass Oliver on the highway when Oliver threw the metal pipe at the back passenger window, denting the rubber seal and scratching the window. “I stayed in my car for a few minutes wrapping my head around what just happened. I looked behind me and saw at least 10 other vehicles that had already been hit as well,” she said. “I was shocked with how many people she had managed to hit in just five to ten minutes.”

Oliver has a history of problems within the community and was taken to a mental health facility for observation where she will face charges once released.
