McLeod, Bloomburg compete in relays

McLeod and Bloomburg’s junior varsity runners competed in the Runnin’ Rabbs Relays hosted by Atlanta.

JV Boys

For the fellas Gabe Groves placed sixth in the 100m dash at 12.21; in the 400m dash Logan McClain placed fourth at 59.50 and Trenton McKnight fifth at 59.83; in the 800m run Keldyn Schubert and McClain placed 1-2 with times of 2:10.07 and 2:16.88 respectively; in the 1600m run Jace Deaton placed fourth at 5:37.30; in the 110m hurdles Nathan Parker placed third at 18.20; in the 300m hurdles Schubert placed first at 42.21 and Parker sixth at 46.62 and the 4x400m relay team of Groves, Tyler Williams, Nos Gryder and Schubert placed second at 3:47.64.

Schubert also placed first in the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, 5 inches and in high jump Gryder, Jonathon McKnight and McClain placed 2-3-4 with marks of 6 feet even, 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches.

Overall McLeod missed out on tying for second place by one point.

JV Girls

Bloomburg’s JV girls’ track team edged out McLeod by five points but both squads faced tough challenges from bigger schools involved.

For Bloomburg, Jacee Glasgow placed sixth in the 100m dash at 29.11 and second in the 100m hurdles at 18.20; Cassie Glasgow placed first in the 400m dash at 1:06.35 and fifth in triple jump at 28 feet, 3 inches and Jolie Greer placed fourth in discus with a toss of 54 feet, 1 1/2 inches.

For McLeod, Rieolyn Schubert acquired all of the Lady Longhorns’ points as she placed first in the 800m run at 2:51.50 and first in the 1600m run at 6:20.59.
