Lady Tigers battle in softball tournament

Linden-Kildare’s 15th ranked softball squad battled a host of teams in the Union Grove softball tournament last week.

In round one the Lady Tigers (5-1-1) played Maud to a 6-6 tie and then topped Class 3A DeKalb 7-3.

In round two L-K pulled out an 11-10 victory over Class 3A Jefferson.

After falling behind early in the game the Lady Tigers pulled together with big hits from all players to pull off the victory.

In the second game against Class 4A Pittsburg, L-K fell behind early but battled back to score nine runs in the third inning. Although the Lady Tigers clawed out a comeback attempt L-K fell short 12-9.

Freshman Kaycee Neville hit her first homerun as a Lady Tiger and teammate Ashtin Patterson was selected as an All-Tournament Player.
