Queen City resident honored
Queen City resident Renasa Vandevender was recently honored by the National Society of Collegiate Scholars for her outstanding academic excellence. Scott Mobley, who is the Executive Director of NSCS says of the honor, “Our scholars are some of the best of the best who have shown an unwavering commitment to academic excellence early in their collegiate journey. These dynamic individuals embody the NSCS pillars of scholarship, leadership, and service, and many go on to become active contributors within their respective fields.”
Vandevender is presently attending Strayer University, an online college, where she hopes to obtain her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources management. She began her journey in July of 2020 and will graduate with her Associates degree this Sept and hopes to graduate with her bachelor’s in Sept. 2023.
Vandevender currently works on the line at Tyson and is a widow with 8 children. In sharing her story she hopes to show that nothing is impossible.
