Lady Rabbs

The Atlanta Lady Rabbits rolled Redwater, 64-47, Dec. 15.

Freshman baller Kym Sheppard picked up a double-double as she poured in 34 points with 12 boards and four steals, Destinee Webster added 14 points with six assists, Jennifer Easter posted seven points with six assists and Tianna Lawson had four points with nine rebounds and seven steals.

Lady Wildcats

Bloomburg’s Lady Wildcats’ varsity basketball squad topped Sulphur Bluff, 53-43, Dec. 8, with Cassie Glasgow posting 25 points and both Jacee Glasgow and Haylee Breedlove putting up nine points apiece.

The Lady Wildcats also posted a, 53-25, thumping of Avery Dec. 18, with Cassie Glasgow pouring in 27 and both Jacee Glasgow and Haylee Breedlove recording six points each.

Longhorns

The McLeod varsity boys’ basketball team fell to Jefferson, 64-40, Dec. 15. Keldyn Schubert posted 11 points, Casey Smith 10 and Silas Murdock six.

The JV team fell, 39-34, to Jefferson with Henry Teer leading the Longhorns in scoring with 11 points.

McLeod bounced back Dec. 18, with a, 59-25, thumping of Detroit.

The Longhorns went up, 37-13, at the break and finished on a 22-12 run.

Keldyn Schubert recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists and eight rebounds, Silas Murdock poured in 17 points, Casey Smith added 11 points and Nos Gryder had eight points.

McLeod battled Saltillo the next day Dec. 19, and won its second game in a row with a, 55-40, win.

Saltillo led, 17-11, after one quarter of play but the ’Horns outscored the Lions 15-5 in the second frame to go up, 26-22, at the half.

The Longhorns went on a 29-18 run in the second half to put the Lions away.

Silas Murdock scorched the nylon for 16 points, Keldyn Schubert recorded another double-double with 12 points and 10 assists, Casey Smith added 10 points and both Austin Gilmore and Tyler Williams scored five points apiece.

The JV team won, 41-28, with Henry Teer scoring 15 and Kannon Dempsey scoring 11.

Lady Bulldogs

Queen City’s Lady Bulldogs’ basketball team steamrolled Hooks, 52-23, Dec. 18. Hannah Fitts scored 13 points, Mallori Stringer followed with eight, Chloe Phillipi and Serenity Oden had six points apiece, Jamecia Cook, Alex Larry and Lauren Carrell had five points each and Nyla Harrison added two points.

MUMS

The Morris Upchurch Middle School girls’ basketball program battled DeKalb Dec. 14.

The seventh grade team lost, 25-12, with Kerian Thomas posting five points and the eighth grade team won 31-25 with Brenna Turbeville scoring 10 points.
