Pastor Alford Charles Williams - spreading the Message for 51 years
God called Dr. A.C. Williams to preach the word to his people in Nov. of 1969. He was twenty years old and came from a small town called Wamba, Texas.
Williams finished high school at Dunbar High in Texarkana and studied at Baptist Bowie Theology School in 1971. He also attended other schools to further his knowledge.
In 1974 he married Elvira and has two sons.
Williams managed an El Chico Restaurant for years and was offered his own store, but he left there to sell trucks and cars at a McClarty Ford dealership.
But that is not what God wanted him to do.
He was offered Enon Missionary Baptist Church in 1977 in Atlanta, Texas and he moved on it.
Not knowing anything about this town, he just went where God led him.
His favorite verse is Ecclesiastes 3:1, To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
About the COVID-19, he states “it is real and we all need to be safe, but it is not of God, it’s a work of the Devil to keep people in fear.”
II Timothy 1:7 states, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of sound mind.
He states he has a great church and great members. He has never shut down his church because it is not what God wanted him to do.
Pastor Williams also stays busy with his detail shop and drives a school bus for Queen City ISD.
He’s just an old country preacher trying to save the city and give the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“We are all one people and one nation.”
When asked what he will do when he gets to Heaven, he says “find Jesus!”
