Bloomburg

Bloomburg’s varsity girls’ basketball program topped county neighbor Queen City 56-50 Nov. 23.

The Lady ’Cats had a 15-8 first quarter lead and held onto a 23-18 advantage at the break. The second half was a barn-burner as Bloomburg edged QC 33-32.

Cassie Glasgow scorched the nets for 28 points, Jacee Glasgow added 14 and Haylee Breedlove posted 14.

Hannah Fitts recorded 12 points for QC, Serenity Oden added eight, Mallori Stringer poured in six, Gracie Weeks had five, Alex Larry four, Nyla Harrison three and Jamecia Cook two.

M.U.M.S.

The M.U.M.S. Lady Bulldogs battled Hooks Nov. 30. Hooks won the seventh grade contest 13-7 with Makenna Hamilton posting three points, and QC won the eighth grade game 27-6 with Laterika Jackson putting up nine points.

AMS

The Atlanta Middle School boys’ basketball program was in action Nov. 30, as they took on New Boston.

Atlanta swept New Boston on the night and each team moved to 2-0 on the season.

The seventh grade A team rolled 40-15 with Jayden riley pouring in 20 points, Chence Plattenburg seven and Toddy Webster six.

The seventh/eighth grade B team torched the Lions 33-2 with Eli Mitchell posting 12 points and bot Sye Stroman and JJ Williams putting up six points apiece. The eighth grade A team won 45-24 behind Braylen Rowe scoring 17, Markeylin Batton 10 and Peyton Gaston seven.
