Atlanta’s Lady Rabbits battled 5A Texas High Nov. 10, and fell by just a few points 50-45. Freshman baller Kym Sheppard recorded 19 points

Freshman baller Kym Sheppard recorded 19 points and eight boards, Destine Webster posted seven points with two assists, Destinee Wells added seven points and two rebounds, Tianna Lawson had six points with seven rebounds, Jennifer Easter had three points and two boards, Madison Bailey added two points and Sabriiyah Young posted four boards.

Bloomburg

Bloomburg’s Lady Wildcats topped Trinity Christian 54-43 Nov. 6.

The Lady ’Cats had a 21-17 lead at the half and finished the game on a 33-26 run.

Haylee Breedlove had 22 points and four boards, Jacee Glasgow turned up a double-double with 12 points, 17 rebounds, seven assist and three blocks, Cassie Glasgow added 14 points with eight rebounds and four blocks, Braylee Harrist had two points and five boards and the Lady Wildcats received buckets from Dai’lynn Gearlds and Kenzie LaDuke.

Linden-Kildare

The Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers battled Ore City Nov. 10 and bounced out with a 30-21 win over the Lady Rebels.

Angelyna Meggs and Leah Brown had seven points each, Hannah Brown and LaSonya Nard added six points apiece, Madison Ebarb had two points and Sydney Hampton garnered two points

“We as a team played well for our first game of the season learning what our strengths are and where we can improve,” Coach James Allen said. “Madi Bynum had four rebounds with two steals, Ashtin Patterson had one steal to go along with good defensive pressure, Kaycee Neville had one rebound with one steal and Greenlee Smith played well defensively.”

The Lady Tigers traveled to DeKalb Nov. 13, to take on the Lady Bears.

L-K fought hard but fell 56-27 to DeKalb.

Ashtin Patterson had nine points with three rebounds and one steal, Angelyna Meggs had six points with one rebound and two steals, Leah Brown had four points with one rebound, LaSonya Nard had two points with seven rebounds, Hannah Brown had four points with eight rebounds, Sydney Hampton had two points with one rebound, Madi Bynum had one steal with two rebounds and Kaycee Neville had three rebounds with one assist.

“We fought hard in a losing battle but committed several turnovers in the beginning which helped DeKalb pull out to an early advantage in which we were not able to overcome,” Coach Allen said. “Our ladies did not back down nor did they lose their heart and finished the game with pride.”

McLeod

McLeod’s varsity boys’ basketball squad has been a force to be reckoned with the past few years in particular.

The Longhorns opened the season Nov. 14, with a road trip to Mt. Pleasant to take on Chapel Hill.

The game was one for the ages to be an early season contest as Chapel Hill won 57-56 in overtime.

McLeod outscored the Red Devils 8-5 in the first quarter but a 13-4 run for Chapel Hill put the Red Devils up 18-12 at the break.

The Longhorns outscored Chapel Hill 33-27 in the second half and could have sealed the deal, but had to accept overtime instead.

The OT period was a battle that Chapel Hill won by one point 12-11. This sealed the one-point victory for the Red Devils.

Keldyn Schubert had a double-double with 10 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and three steals, Silas Murdock added 14 points and nine boards, Nathan Parker posted 14 points with eight rebounds, Austin Gilmore had nine points, Casey smith five and Nos Gryder four.

M.U.M.S.

The M.U.M.S. Lady Bulldogs battled Paul Pewitt on the basketball court Nov. 9.

The seventh grade team won 33-6 with Makenna Hamilton scoring 14 points and the eighth grade team won 36-8 with Brenna Turbeville netting 18 points.

Queen City

The Queen City Lady Bulldogs battled Ore City Nov. 13 and came away with a huge 58-10 win.

Gracie Weeks scorched the nets for 11 points and seven rebounds and Chloe Phillipi had 11 points with four boards.

Nyla Harrison, Jamecia Cook, Lauren Carrell and Trinity Oden each scored six points apiece, Serenity Oden added five points, Hannah Fitts had three points, Cierra Brady and Mallori Stringer had two points each and Alex Larry posted three assists, three rebounds and a steal.
