Queen City voters approve all-alcohol sales

Voters approved last Tuesday a local option initiative that would allow for the sales of all alcohol within Queen City. The measure passed with 65 percent voting in favor and 35 voting against – 358 to 193.

City secretary, Amanda Wiley, said they will canvas the votes this Thursday before their regular city council meeting.

“Our city attorney is working on zoning, our ordinance and permits”, Wiley said, “We have not issued any building permits as of now.”

The council will convene this Thursday, at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 at 601 Loop 236, Queen City, Texas 75572.
