Run for the rains are coming
1 Kings 18:1 - And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, go, show yourself unto Ahab. And I will send rain upon the earth.
If we didn’t get rain upon the earth, we would not be here. Rain is life to everything. When God wanted to cut off a nation, he withheld the rain. There wasn’t any crops, there wasn’t any food, it brought drought. But in the spirit, it seems as though God has withheld the rain.
The Lord told Elijah to go and show himself unto Ahab, and there was a sore famine in Samaria. The Lord told Elijah in the beginning to prophesy no dew nor rain these years. Ahab wasn’t following God, and the children of Israel wasn’t following God.
It’s the same in this world today, people are rebellious, they don’t want any part of the Lord.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is not being preached in a lot of places, and we wonder why we don’t see a move of God like we used to. We know from times past, how the Lord can move, and how he will move, if we trust him.
Sometimes it seems even hard to get a prayer through, but we know the enemy is the prince of the power of the air, and sometimes it seems like the days of Daniel when prayer was held up for 21 days.
We are fighting against powers of darkness, and it’s hard to break through sometimes. We wonder what happened, we see so much going on in the church world. And it seems as though God has withheld the spiritual rain.
It seems like every time we take a step forward, that we take two steps backward. God can’t move if we aren’t consistent, we must be consistent in what we do for the Lord. We’ve got to keep on going forward.
The Church can’t continue to step forward and keep falling back. We need God to help us be consistent so God can send the rain. Rain means water condensed from the atmosphere, or abundance of outpouring.
That’s what we need today, an abundance of outpouring, this is what we are looking for, an abundance of outpouring of Gods Spirit.
1 Samuel 12:18- So Samuel called unto the Lord, and the Lord sent thunder and rain that day. And all the people greatly feared the Lord and Samuel.
If you read through the Bible, you will see that Israel was in famine a number of times because they would not do right.
They would turn and rebel against God, and serve idols. God was not pleased in that, and he’s not pleased in his children taking one step forward and two backwards.
God wants to pour out the rain of the Holy Ghost, and there will be many that will enter in, but many will also be left out.
This is not a time to get slack, to keep backing up, let’s continue to go forward in God, and be ready for whatever God wants to do in these last days.
1 Kings 18:41- And Elijah said unto Ahab, get thee up, eat and drink, for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
Hosea 6:3-Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord, his going forth is prepared as the morning, and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and the former rain unto the earth.
Get ready for an outpouring. Run, for the rains are coming!
