Atlanta Middle School Rabbs crush New Boston Lions
Seventh grade
The Rabbs forced New Boston to punt on the opening drive. On the punt, Jayden Riley picked it up off the bounce and returned it all the way for six from 82 yards out.
Marshawn Woodberry added the 2-point play to make it 8-0 early. After another three-and-out, the Rabbs took over in Lion territory.
Riley found Chence Plattenburg on a slant route from 36 yards out for another score. Kayden Linwood added the 2-point play to make it 16-0.
In the second quarter Plattenburg took a jet sweep to pay dirt from 11 yards out. Malaki Richardson made a nice catch on the 2-point play to bring the score to 24-0.
Jaylon Shelton intercepted a Lion pass on the ensuing drive which set the Rabbs up at the 35-yard line. Riley handed off to Linwood, who flipped it to Plattenburg, who then found Riley running behind the defense for a nice 65-yard touchdown on a trick play.
Toddy Webster added the 2-point play to make it 32-0 Rabbs.
The Lions added a score on their next drive to make it 32-6. On the next Rabb drive, Riley found Rem Clayton on a 27-yard pass. Linwood added a nice run to set the Rabbs up at the 2-yard line.
Riley would pick up a low snap and waltz in the end zone on the next play but would be called back.
Two plays later Riley found Kason Linwood wide open for an 18-yard TD pass which boosted the score to 40-6.
In the third quarter, with a running clock, New Boston would add another score.
The Rabbs would pick up another score on a busted play as Riley pitched the ball to Linwood who bobbled it and hit the ground.
Riley picked it up, broke tackles and took it all the way for a 46-yard score which made it 44-20.
On the next Lions’ drive, the ball was fumbled and picked up by Rem Clayton who took it 50 yards to pay dirt. That scoop-and-score capped the scoring for the day.
Riley finished the day 6-of-9 passing for 107 yards and two TDs, a punt return score, a receiving TD, and a rushing TD.
Other standouts were Brennon Allen who had a fumble recovery, Aden Bolt and Luke Martin.
With the 52-20 win Atlanta seventh grade moved to 7-0 on the season.

After a nice run from Markeylin Batton, Jamarion Austin hit pay dirt from 47 yards out.
Asher Wells would add the 2-point catch from Peyton Harrison to make it 8-0. After a nice defensive stop, the Rabbs took over in Lion territory.

Easton Owens found Wells in the end zone who snagged the ball out of the air for a 20-yard touchdown. Harrison added the 2-point try to make it 16-0.
After a Rabbit turnover on their next drive, the Rabbs defense made a tremendous stop deep in their own territory as Batton knocked the ball away on fourth down.
On the ensuing drive, Landon Johnson converted a fourth down by dragging several Lion defenders across the sticks for a 7-yard gain, but the Rabbs would turn the ball over again in the red zone a few plays later.
New Boston tried to go for it deep in their own territory on a fake punt attempt but the ball was fumbled and pounced on by Wells to set the Rabbs up deep in Lion territory.
Two plays later Owens found Braylen Rowe on a screen pass and he took it to pay dirt from 18 yards out. Batton added the 2-point run to make it 24-0.o
On the ensuing kickoff Rowe recovered the onside kick giving the ball back to the Rabbs.
Owens would dump a screen pass to Jamarion Austin who took it 46 yards for yet another touchdown. The 2-point failed making it 30-0 late in the first half.
On the ensuing kickoff Kheaton Kinney booted the ball over the Lion returner’s head, the ball rolled around near the goal line and was finally recovered by JJ Williams for the touchdown.
Asher Wells would add the 2-point on a shovel pass from Harrison which made the score 38-0 Atlanta.
The second half would be shortened due to a running clock.
Landon Johnson added a nice 15-yard TD run, set up by a nice run from Batton.
The Lions would score on the final play of the game bringing the final score to Rabbs 44 Lions 6.
Other standouts were Ty Waldon, Derian Trussell and Sye Stroman,
The Rabbs eighth grade moved to 6-1 on the year and 5-0 in district play.
Both the Rabbs AMS teams look to cap off a great season in two weeks at home versus Jefferson.
