Hughes Springs HAPPENINGS

Business Spotlight:

The Chamber is putting the Business Spotlight on SteveO’s Garage in October. SteveO’s Garage is a locally owned and operated full-service Garage aimed at providing reasonably priced and quality automotive, motorcycle and lawn mower service to the citizens of Hughes Springs. It is a full-service shop with Computer Diagnostics for those troubling engine codes. He offers a full tire and brake service for cars, light trucks and motorcycles. Yes, he does motorcycle tires! Every oil change and tire rotation come with a 29-point vehicle inspection so you will know of any issues or upcoming issues. Oil and filters used will always be quality name brand. Never the cheap generic brands found at most “quick lubes”. SteveO’s Garage is a one-man operation. He says, “I take pride in my work and I do one at a time! Appointments suggested, but not required.” He offers free pick-up and delivery for HSISD Faculty during school hours. Hours of Operations: Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm, sometimes on Saturdays. HISTORIC HIGHWAY 11 TREASURE TRAILS

The Historic Highway 11 Treasure Trails is back! This October 8th, 9th, and 10th will mark the fourth time six towns stretching from Linden to Sulphur Springs will join together to welcome visitors for a weekend of treasure hunting. This “80-mile yard sale was created in the summer of 2018 when the Camp County Chamber of Commerce reached out to Linden, Hughes Springs, Daingerfield, Winnsboro, and Sulphur Springs with the idea to co-host and event designed to showcase one of the most beautiful, scenic drives in Northeast Texas. Locals in each of the towns and along the stretches of highway between city limits clean out closet, garages and under beds and set up yard sale, making some quick cash and meeting the curious road warriors who come from as far away as Dallas and Shreveport to travel the trail end-to-end. Hughes Springs offers a city map with all the sales marked. If you want to participate this year, contact Luanne at the Chamber to have your sale added to the map. We have vendor spots available for rent if you need a spot along Highway 11. Vendor spots are $25 for three days. We also have the yellow signs for $10 each if you want an eye-catching way to advertise your sale.

Christmas Trees in the Park will be November 21, 2020 and Holiday on First Street and Cork & Fork will be November 23, 2020.
