Be Glorified

In John 17:1-13; Jesus, toward the end of an extensive teaching which began in chapter 13, at the last supper “….He lifts up His eyes and prayed a most powerful and intimate prayer.”

On many occasions Jesus would separate Himself from His disciples to be alone in prayer, but this time Jesus chose to pray in front of them, I believe the disciples must have been in awe as Jesus calls on the heavenly Father and pours Himself out in prayer.

He begins with the words, ”Father the hour is come…” we know that he was referring to the time of crucifixion, in that hour the Father would be glorified through the obedient sacrifice of the Son.

But I want to say to the church today, that the hour is come.

The hour is come that God should be glorified through our obedient walk with Christ Jesus. The hour is come that God the Father should be glorified through our crucifying of the flesh.

The hour is come that God the Father should be glorified through the committed and consecrated moving forward of the church in whom his Son established by the shedding of his blood.

It is time, even past time for our heavenly Father to be glorified.

David declared in Psalms 8:1, “O Lord, our Lord how excellent is thy name in all the earth, who hast set thy glory above the heavens”.

Let the church of the redeemed glorify God the Father through Christ Jesus! To God be the Glory!
