Bates returns to Rotary Youth as Senior Facilitator

Senior Claire Bates was recently selected to return to RYLA 2021 Camp as a Senior Facilitator. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive training program for youth ages 14-30.

Talented young people attend a seminar, camp, or workshop, generally three to ten days in length, organized by Rotarians at the local club or district level.

Claire was chosen to attend as a junior in 2020 and then selected to return in the summer of 2021 in a leadership role.

Claire exhibits leadership in a number of roles at QCHS including the President of the National Honor Society, a member of the QCHS Student Council and Interact Club, and a leader on the varsity volleyball, cross country, cheer, golf, and track teams.

Claire also works hard to maintain her rank in the Top 10 percent of her class.

QCHS Educator, Lesley Dotson, had this to say, “RYLA is close to my heart. It’s something my son, Austin, did in high school and has had the privilege of going back and working every year since. It has made such a positive impact on him. They only choose a few to come back to be Senior Facilitators. I am so proud that Claire was chosen and given this honor.”
