TRAX ends Greyhound service

In a meeting held at the Atlanta City Hall on Aug. 26, TRAX Transportation announced the end of the Greyhound “Connect” Service, which provided twice daily routes from Atlanta to the Greyhound Bus Station in Texarkana.

According to Operating Coordinator Bobby Williams, the lack of riders has prompted the change.

“We really didn’t have enough riders on the bus to justify the twice daily trips,” he said.

“But we will still take people to the Greyhound Station if they call at least 48 hours in advance to schedule it. We will pick them up at their home and take them.”

For residents in Bowie and Cass Counties, the number to call for scheduling pick-ups is 903-255- 3530. The bus fare is $3.00. This change does not affect the other routes on the TRAX schedule.
