Genealogical society meets Sept. 8

Our guest speaker on Tuesday, September 8, will be Bill O’Neal, well-known speaker, writer, and history professor.

O’Neal retired in 2011 as professor of history at Panola College in Carthage, Texas, after 42 years of teaching. He was appointed Texas State Historian in 2012 and served six years as ambassador of Texas history as he traveled all over our great state of Texas. He has written more than 40 books and numerous articles. His subject will be the “Regulators vs. Moderators War in East Texas”.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and we hope that as many of you as possible will join us for this interesting and informative monthly meeting in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Queen City, Texas at the corner of Marietta and Fourth Streets.

We always serve a light meal and beverages and the public is invited.
