Three generations and 67 years later, the little jewelry store started by Ray and Doris Harp in 1953 is still going strong. Grandson Jon Head and wife Tamy have purchased the family business, and son Austin – an Atlanta High School senior – works there on Saturdays.
Jon’s parents, Donna and David Head purchased the business in 1997 from Donna’s parents when they retired. He worked there while becoming a graduate gemologist, and now has over 30 years of experience on the workbench.
While Austin is being groomed as the fourth-generation owner, daughter Madison is a graduate of the University of North Texas and is looking forward to teaching high school journalism.
