Linden-Kildare summer band
Marching band is all about precision, timing, sound and surprisingly, social distancing. Think military rank and file--arms out for a measure of distance between each person for that clean, crisp line.
It was with the words, “We’ve been practicing for this,” that Band Director Extraordinaire Ron Williams began the first day of summer band instruction—stressing to students to maintain distance from one another. Despite the heat, students dawned masks when asked, and water breaks were often.
Band practice was held in the auditorium where students spread out across the seating area and stage. Band students are as well versed in the art of social distancing as they are in the art of their chosen instrument and marching to the beat of their own drum.
