Nathan Johns, 20, of Cass County was arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting his mother, Melissa Johns, also of Cass County.
According to the Cass County Sheriff ’s Office, deputies were called to the home on Hwy. 77 around 1 p.m. Thursday for a report of a possible gunshot victim. Melissa Johns was found dead inside the home.
Johns allegedly fired shots from a handgun into his mother’s house— one bullet fatally struck the woman.
Johns was arrested Thursday and charged with murder and has been transported to the Cass County Jail.
