CHRISTUS-Atlanta serving health care needs

CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital - Atlanta (CSMH-Atlanta) stands ready to meet the health care needs of Cass County and surrounding community residents as our world has been navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Emergencies don’t wait and neither do community health needs,” said Jason Rounds, FACHE, CHFP, President, CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System. “That’s why our ER, hospital, and outpatient services are open in Atlanta to ensure we meet those needs in a safe environment. We know delaying treatment can result in unfavorable health outcomes, and re-opening our outpatient services has been a priority.”

“We are pleased to have re-opened outpatient services for our community including Outpatient Rehabilitation for Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, Cardiac Pulmonary Rehab, Infusion Therapy, and Wound Care, taking all the proper precautions,” said Brett Kinman, Interim Administrator. “In addition, we have recently expanded our MRI services to two days a week and have been offering 3D Clarity HD resolution digital mammograms since the fall of 2019, the most advanced technology for finding breast cancer early.”

“As most residents probably recall, the hospital Emergency Department doubled its capacity in 2017 with a new digital X-ray suite, an upgraded CT scanner, advanced cardiac monitoring, teleneurology and tPa for treatment of strokes, and pediatric emergency telemedicine,” said Kinman. “Especially important for our community is the fact that CSMH-Atlanta is designated as a Support (Level III) Stroke Facility, a Level IV Trauma Center with advanced physician and nursing certifications in stroke, emergency and trauma medicine and holds Chest Pain Accreditation.”

“CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital-Atlanta provides a full-range of health care for this area and is a vital link to the wellbeing of this community,” said Travis Ransom, Atlanta Mayor. “Access to health care in smaller communities is critical, and we are blessed to have this hospital ministry available for us.”
