Band trip canceled
Most students begin their path in band in sixth grade. Some, even before that. The dedication, the sweat, hours of practice, sometimes carrying a heavy instrument. Not for glory or fame, but for the experience, the discipline, the memories, and the friends made. With school being out for the duration of the school year, band students at Linden-Kildar High School have wondered if their annual spring band trip was still on.
Sadly, things have not worked out and the trip has been canceled. Ron Williams, Band Director Extraordinaire, announced on April 25, saying that everyone will be getting a full refund. Also announced was the information in regards to the band boosters. It is during this time of year that they have elections for their officers, however, due to the shutdown, they have decided to retain the same officers through summer. Elections will be discussed at the first meeting of next year.
A scholarship committee consisting of five people has been assembled to choose this year’s scholarship recipients. If you would like more information or have any questions or concerns, you can contact Williams or the High School office.
