Shopping returns, dine-in resumes

Governor Abbott’s announcement of a phased reopening of Texas gave many small business owners a plethora of mixed emotions. Excitement at the prospect of getting back to normal. Apprehension at the thought of still having to take necessary precautions during this time of social distancing.

Starting May 1, retail shops, restaurants, and many other places can open their doors to people eager to get out, with a max of 25% occupancy.

Many shop owners are electing to continue curbside service, phone orders, togo orders, or having items shipped. While some are re-opening and adhering to the 25% dine in occupancy, wearing protective gear, and keeping the business safe for all seeking to enjoy a dine in meal.

While the world at large is slowly getting back to normal, one can be thankful for a town filled with those who care so fully and completely about the welfare of its community.
