City perseveres

During times of fear and uncertainty, residents may look to those in charge of what to do and even words of encouragement. They are the leaders who oversee the day to day workings of a city. They are those who work to keep residents safe and secure. They work tirelessly, day in and day out to maintain a semblance of normalcy. These are trying times indeed, and yet, those such as City Manager Bob Swisher are continuing to work to maintain a city so beloved by its residents.

Swisher says that as for now, all day to day activity, such as patching potholes and processing water bills, will continue. While City Hall will be closed to the public, they are still working behind the scenes to keep the city running smoothly. For those with questions, you can still call during normal business hours and water bill payments are still being accepted, however, they must be sent in either online, through the mail, or dropped off through the night deposit slot located to the right of the front door.

The city is also highly encouraging social distancing. This may be hard for many residents as Linden is a very social small town. Indeed it is a common sight to see people stopped on the sidewalks talking to one another, stopping by local shops for a chat, dropping in on your neighbor for a visit. These are all things that make small-town life so wonderful, the connections made. During this time of social distancing, call your neighbors, text your friends, share uplifting things online. Keep lifting one another up.
