Linden-Kildare Baseball
Linden-Kildare’s varsity baseball team took part in the Minden Tournament Mar. 5-7.
The Tigers opened the tourney with a 19-13 loss to Lakeside, Louisiana.
L-K banged out 15 hits in the game which included Nic Kunze going 4-for-5 from the dish with four doubles and five ribbies, Jackson Lee had a couple of hits including a double with an RBI, Mason Johnson was 3-for-5 with a double, Deuce Schuler added a double, Hunter Crenshaw was 2-for-3 with an RBI and the Tigers received singles form Colt Neville, Jonathan Owen and Carter Foreman.
In the second game L-K fell to host Minden 10-4.
Schuler was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Crenshaw had a single Carter added a single and Foreman posted a single.
In the third contest the Tigers battered Rayville, Louisiana, 13-1 behind a masterful pitching performance by Kunze.
Kunze only gave up one hit and struck out seven over six innings of work. Foreman pitched an inning of relief as Kunze’s pitch count was over 100.
Schuler was 2-for-4 with a double and three ribeyes, Neville was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, Kyler Fitts was 2-for-5 with an RBI, Owen added a couple of RBIs, Lee had an RBI, Crenshaw had an RBI single, Kunze walked four times and Foreman had a hit in the contest.
Weather permitting the Tigers will be in the Hawkins Tournament Mar. 12-15.
