Atlanta track competes in Watty Myers Relays at Texas High

Atlanta’s track program competed in the Watty Myers Relays at Texas High School Mar. 5, with host Texas High, Carthage, Hallsville, Liberty-Eylau, Marshall, Pleasant Grove and Nacogdoches.

With weather conditions being the way they were last week the field events were canceled.

Varsity Boys

In the 800m run Matthew Cauley placed fifth at 2:12.54, in the 1600m run Dagan Ward placed second at 4:40.84 and Matthew Morin fifth at 5:05.62 and in the 3200m run Ward placed first with a time of 10:35.00 and Morin placed fifth at 11:23.00.

The 4x100m relay team of Kartez Andrews, Kameron Dickerson, Ahmani Jackson and Caleb Hamilton placed fourth at 44.17, the 4x200m relay team of Alijuah Drayton, Dickerson, Jackson and Hamilton placed fifth at 1:32.87 and 4x400m relay team of Drayton, Brant Rosser, Cauley and Cameron carney placed fourth at 3:36.06.

Varsity Girls

Keyona Easter blazed to a second place finish in the 100m dash at 12.92, Tianna Lawson placed fourth in the 200m dash at 27.81 and India Cooper placed first in the 300m hurdles at 49.09.

In the 800m run Kaylon Partain placed fifth at 2:40.87, in the 1600m run Keri Fomby placed first at 6:06.70 and in the 3200m run Jaiden Stroman placed first at 13.09.00.

The 4x100m relay team of Destinee Webster, Keyona Easter, Lawson and Jennifer Easter placed fourth at 51.12, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed fourth awt 1:48.96 and the 4x400m relay team of Webster, Cooper, Partain and Lauren Booth placed sixth at 4:58.12.

JV Boys

In the 100m dash Brandon Parkman placed third at 11.65, in the 200m dash Isaiah Henderson placed sixth at 24.32, in the 400m dash Kentrell Luckey placed fifth at 55.28, in the 10m hurdles Stacy Darty placed fifth at 18.46 and in the 300m hurdles Darty placed third at 44.36.

Jaquan Robinson placed first in the 800m run at 2:12.16 and Hudson Hale placed fifth in the 3200m run at 11:58.00.

The 4x100m relay team of Daniel Hernandez, Henderson, DK Parker and Parkman placed second at 45.16, the 4x200m relay team of Kreon Golden, Noah Harris, Henderson and Parker placed fifth at 1:37.76 and the 4x400m relay team of Brandon Bauer, Bryce Allen, Luckey and Harris placed fifth at 3:48.87.

JV Girls

Charity Henderson crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 13.62 in the 100m dash, McKenzie Martin placed fourth at 29.41 in the 200m dash, Mitesha Cooper placed sixth at 1:14.37 in the 400m dash, Deja Gardener placed fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 20.59 and in the 1600m run Kasidy Point placed first at 6:52.10.

The 4x100m relay team of Henderson, Makayla Martin, Ashtin Patterson and Presley Vaughn placed second at 54.21, the 4x200m relay team of Martin, Patterson, Vaughn and Meriyah Martin placed third at 1:58.09 and the 4x400m relay team of Makayla Martin, Vaughn, Cooper and Point placed fourth at 5:06.80.

This Saturday, Mar. 14, Atlanta will host the Lions Club/Gordon Pynes/Runnin’ Rabbs Relays.
