Runnin’ Rabbs place second, JV first at Paul Parr Relays

Atlanta opened its track season Feb. 28, in the Paul Parr Relays at Liberty-Eylau High School.

The varsity boys placed second behind a strong Texas High team but beat out host L-E, Pleasant Grove and Redwater.

The JV team placed first overall with 190 points, Texas High came in second with 139.5 points, L-E had 106, PG 92 and Redwater 57.5.

The varsity girls placed fifth overall and the JV girls placed third.

Varsity Boys

In the 100m dash Kartrez Andrews placed sixth with a time of 11.63 and in the 200m dash Cameron Carney placed second at 53.98 and Thomas Steward sixth at 57.01.

Dagan Ward placed second in the 800m run with a time of 2:01.84, Matthew Morin placed fifth at 2:09.58 and Matthew Cauley placed sixth at 2:09.92.

In the 1600m run Ward placed second at 4:49.30 and Morin fourth at 5:05.91 and in the 3200m run Ward placed second at 10:32.03 and Morin third at 11:10.35.

The 4x100m relay team of Andrews, Ahmani Jackson, Alijuah Drayton and Brant Rosser placed third at 44.36, the 4x200m relay team of Jakobe Dickerson, Jackson, Drayton and Rosser placed third at 1:35.16 and the 4x400m relay team of Carney, Cauley, Drayton and Rosser placed second at 3:34.27.

In the shot put event Atlanta finished 2-3-4. Jared Cowgill placed second with a toss of 45 feet, Tyrell king placed third with a heave of 44 feet, 2 inches and Cade Fant placed fourth with a toss of 43 feet, 10 inches.

In the discus event Cowgill placed third with a toss of 111 feet, 2 inches, Connor Samples placed fourth with a toss of 110 feet and Fant placed fifth with a mark of 108 feet, 7 1/2 inches.

The Rabbs received 18 points in the pole vault after Will Porterfield placed first with a mark of 9 feet, 6 inches and Hunter Clayton placed second with a mark of 9 feet even.

JV Boys

In the 100m dash Isaiah Henderson placed third at 11.64 and DK Parker sixth at 11.90, in the 200m dash Henderson placed first at 24.11 and Noah Harris second at 24.24 and in the 400m dash Bryce Allen placed second at 57.21, Howard Green third at 58.65 and Daniel Hernandez fourth at 59.95.

In the 800m run Jaquan Robinson placed first with a time of 2:17.12, Allen placed second at 2:20.27 and Kentrell Luckey placed fourth at 2:25.08.

Hudson Hale placed third in the 1600m run with a time of 6:11.67 and fourth in the 3200m run at 12:51.25.

The 4x100m relay team of Hernandez, Kreon Golden, Parker and Brandon Parkman placed second at 46.41, the 4x200m relay team of Harris, Golden, Parker and Parkman placed third at 1:42.96 and the 4x400m relay team of Luckey, Harris, Hernandez and Golden placed first at 3:50.03.

The JV Rabbs scored 68 points in the field events which included Trey Adams placing first in the shot put with a heave of 39 feet, 6 inches and teammate DK Parker placing second with a mark of 39 feet even.

Parkman placed first in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 5 1/2 inches and Isaiah Harrison placed third in discus with a toss of 98 feet, 11 inches.

In the triple jump Parkman placed first with a score of 40 feet, 4 inches and Hernandez placed sixth at 34 feet, 8 inches; in the high jump Adrian Kennington placed second at 5 feet, 8 inches and Parkman third at 5 feet, 6 inches and in pole vault Kennington placed first at 10 feet, 6 inches.

Varsity Girls

Keri Fomby placed second in the 1600m run at 6:09.87 and placed first in the 3200m run at 13:16.07.

India Cooper placed first in the 300m hurdles at 52.65 and the 4x400m relay team of Cooper, Destinee Webster, Savor Chism and Kaylon Partain placed fifth at 5:00.68.

In the field events Jennifer Easter placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 15 feet, 9 inches; Quenijah Cook placed third in the shot put with a toss of 33 feet, 6 1/2 inches and T’Nijah Jackson placed sixth at 29 feet, 2 inches; Tianna Lawson placed fourth in the high jump with a mark of 5 feet even and in the pole vault Sarah Clayton and Aubrey Anthony tied for second after clearing 6 feet, 6 inches each.

JV Girls

In the 100m dash Charity Henderson placed fifth at 14.10, in the 400m dash McKenzie Martin placed fourth at 30.62, in the 400m dash Presley Vaughn placed fifth at 1:13.06 and in the 800m run Lilly Davis placed sixth at 3:27.53.

Deja Gardener placed fourth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 1:10.58 and the 4x400m relay team of Vaughn, Mitesha Cooper, Charity Maxie and Madison Harper placed third at 5:52.49.
